Hitman 2, where 1st person view?

Wikipedia says: Hitman 2 features mission-based gameplay, from a third-person perspective, which can optionally be switched to a first-person view. That was one of the factors that made me just buy it. But damned if I can find any option to switch to 1st person. Anyone seen this?

Aaaahhhh - that explains it. I hadn't realised there are two Hitman 2s (or is that Hitmans 2? or even Hitmen 2?) Anyway, thanks, it was reduced to £16 on PS4 so I'll dump it and see if they still have the old version. They certainly had tons of confusing stuff relating to Hitman 2 it was hard to tell what was the main game so I went on the price reduction from £54.

I haven't played the two Hitman reboot games, as I was kind of put off by the fact that they're more or less sandbox games. The originals, which I have all finished more than once, are a lot less open and, conversely, a lot more challenging. I think Hitman 2 was actually my least favorite of those games. I think it peaked at "Blood Money".

Anyway, you probably won't find the original "Hitman 2 Silent Assassin" for the PS4 as it is sooooo old, but it is on Steam.

Just deleted about 5 games off my PS4 last night in a fit of erm... annoyance, including Hitman 2. (I never got beyond the tutorial on that.) I've downloaded these 5 games over the last few weeks and all disappointing. Mind you, they've all got their good points but I'd almost rather see a bad game (movie, book) than a good one that's spoilt by things that could easily have been fixed. I might have a rant in a new thread somewhere actually.

AFAIK, none of the Hitman games ever had first-person mode, unless we're talking about using scopes in sniper rifles :D Btw. the last two Hitman reboot games are really good at what they do, i.e. stealth in social circles. Finding your way up the social ladder is fun. Also there are tons of ways to manipulate the environment and create kill opportunities or "accidents", although the game feels a bit too heavy-handed in communicating them. I guess that's because they were trying to communicate that to as wide audience as possible, but that feels like on a verge of desperation (please, please, use us, please!). You can turn that hint system off though and explore everything by yourself.

I always wanted to get into Hitman (I played Hitman 1, 2 and Blood Money). Never really happened, because the games are just too rigid in how they want to be played. Not my cup of tea. Didn't try the newer ones though, but, it doesn't look like they are for me.

I guess then the new ones are probably more for you than for me. In the first games, it was actually a real challenge to get a silent assassin rating, i.e., kill only the target without being seen or leaving evidence on the scene.

The first Hitman games all had first person mode, but nobody ever used it.

Yep, a huge sandbox rather than a tightly crafted but non-linear gameplay experience... 😕 I hate sandbox games, so, eventhough I preordered Hitman 1, I never touched it to this point. I will eventually, but... I really hate sandbox games! :D

Thanks. Interesting but I doubt my feeble PC will handle it. I downloaded Dark Mod again the other week and even a small mission was jerky. Just a cheap basic graphics on the motherboard. Might be interesting to glimpse what it looks like though.

I've now redownloaded Plague btw and managed to get past where I was stuck. The game is totally staged. I never needed to defeat the entire squad of guards but only two and then the escape opened up and the guards froze behind me (off screen. I know because of a glitch when I saw them frozen! When I moved away from the escape, they killed me!) The trick is to keep close to the escape area but not on it, then a cut scene shows you escaping. None of that happened b4 and I tried quite a few times even going up into the parapets to buy me time to kill them!

      Beta test(er) tip:
Test your mission at least once with all lights on. This can be done using notarget in console. Maybe just quickly fly around with noclip.
Also test all lights which are off by default (enable all lights via script?). Mission testers will miss a lot of light bugs, because they take out lights with water arrows etc. and don't turn on lights so they don't spot light leaks etc. I've seen this now in some recent new missions after they're released.

What is actually grammatically correct when it happens in the future? “Paul Atreides is an idiot” or ‘Paul Atreides was an idiot’? or ‘Paul Atreides will be an idiot’? The latter would at least fit in with the whole psychic and providence stuff!
