Does anyone know the name of the ambient song that plays in the end of the mission of solar escape just as you finish the mission. this song also appears in the painters wife in the brothel second floor. If any can please tell me the name of this song it would be greatly appreciated. this has been driving me nuts for almost 7 years now!

Years ago, we had a request that the console show the name of the currently-playing ambient sound shader.

If it’s not a stock TDM song, you can ask the map author where he got it.

We do have an option called something like r_showSounds, which shows playing sounds and their locations and I think (but could be misremembering) this also includes the current ambient sound. But perhaps it only shows ambient sounds that are associated with specific speaker locations rather than background music.

Did you look in the mission .pk4 file for any unique audio files? If none exist then it would be in the TDM sound files. The mission could be opened in DR and the audio file found that way.

And I did that.
There are no "song"-files (sound files) in the pk4. So it must be an stock one.

So if you want to search for the song, unpack the "tdm_sound_" files and listen to all the files. (using for example vlc)

It's called Forest Children, you can find it in tdm_sound_ambient02.pk4.

Inside that zip file go to sound\ambient\ambience\forest_children.ogg

EDIT: Looks like a member called pakmannen uploaded it to SVN repository in 2005!!!

EDIT: And it looks like he create the song from what I can gather from his old posts.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

I'm actually making a collaboration of sorts with a friend, I make the map itself and he acts as my "Chief Scope Creep Consultant" that checks in every so often to make sure this project isn't getting out of hand.       Things have been so bad these days for me...
      Just a year ago, I've been feeling dizzy, I thought it was nothing, today's stress, that type of thing, went to sleep...Still dizzy! 9 more days dizzy, went to doctor (I would have gone on the first day if NOT for the long appointment time)
      Said it may be Neck Dizziness...I did exercises for 6 months, no changes.
      Went to a Physical Therapist, went to another, no changes.
      I've asked my doctor for a full check this time.
      I hated yesteryear so much due to personal reasons, this year might be the same.
      To be brutally honest, I'd rather have cancer or/and chronic pain than suffer dizziness any second longer, especially when nothing helps.
      Hard to enjoy Thief when you're dizzy so I was hoping this year, Winter will be best for me.
