All my computers I'm trying to install on meet all the requirements, TPM2.0 is on, UEFI, Secure Boot, CSM disabled etc etc.

And I really don't get your reasoning, Microsoft may have an army of programmers and engineers, that's what, a thousand people, maybe.

The install base for windows is over 1.2-1.5 BILLION computers. They themselves estimate about 400-500 million Windows 10 users. Even with a conservative estimate of 20% eligibility, we're still talking 80-100 MILLION computers.

There are thousands upon thousands of hardware/software combinations out there, they CANNOT cover them all, hence the beta program, and yes, I'm a guinea pig, but it's what I signed up for.

I'm also on Netgears' beta program, they send me hardware to test and find bugs, so this stuff isn't new to me. But microsoft needs better error reporting if they plan to release this update in the wild, it will not go well.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Right, but as you say, there are millons of PC which run with Windows by default in very diferent sys specs, which MS knows very well. They know exactly why W11 works only in last generation PC, because they made it principally for these, I think, not because they don't know why it don't work with olders PC.

MS make money with selling Windows to computer companies, which include it in its PC by default, not by users which update it for free in their PC with W10 or 7.

Programmed Obsolence is the name and PC with 10 years or more are not a business.

not sure it was there smartest move to discontinue there QA department in retrospect when things like this happens, but yeah i also seen numerous reports from testers who have machines that there own program says are A ok but which do not want to install it anyway.

Depends. If you're talking about the money saved by passed the QA onto the public via the Windows Insider program and then mainstream use, I think it was the smartest move for Microsoft. If they actually cared about making a solid product and rebuilding their reputation for quality and reliability, then clearly not. But then again they have a locked-up market and for various reasons, there's no sizable movement towards other operating systems due to any of Microsoft's fuckups. At worst, people leave because mobile platforms are doing enough of a good job that it wouldn't matter what MS does with Windows.

Basically there's no motivation for them to behave any differently. Anyone who was in a position to leave the Windows world would have probably done so by now.

A word of warning, Agent Denton. This was a simulated experience; real LAMs will not be so forgiving.

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
