Some here will reject this due to copyright concerns, I think. Even though it may be extraordinarily difficult to unbake this cookie and find out what it's made of, to the satisfaction of a court.

No copyrights in randomly created images by an AI.

Different in Artbreeder, it's the user who create an image, blending different images with the help of an AI. There are possible copyright claims from the author.

Same in the AI apps which use Text to image, but there the work of the author is only putting a text, because of this the copyright is somewhat relative.  But in the case of randomly created textures, who will claim a copyright? The page only has a TOS for it's use respect the tools it offers and images which you upload, but the images in the pages are free to use.

In addition, users forego any copyright and other rights to the images they upload or post on the site.

If you follow the Discord groups for stable diffusion, Dali, Midjourney, Neural Blender, etc, they have user "show and tell" rooms where personal creations and prompts are posted. Great way to get amazing backgrounds for a rotating screen saver. They often have theme days, aka steampunk, fish, angels. cats, etc.

No, Artbreeder merge existing images to an new different one, it's collaborative between AI and the user. It's differnt from those like Craiyon, nightcafe and others, which crete images by a promt rom the user. You put f.Exmple Middleage city in a starry night, and the AI create an image which show this.

Criyon is 100 free to use, also Nightcafe, but only with limited resolution. There are also a lot of others, but mostly only free with limitation.

Rhere are also some to create videos in this way

I wouldn't worry about copyright, there's some precedent for training text AIs and I assume that any successful lawsuits will be more about deepfakes, generating images that imitate copyrighted works of living artists etc. Certainly nobody is going to care about textures in a free game, especially if they're not specifically labeled as "LOOK, WE MADE THIS WITH AI!". I understand that the question of caring or not caring about it may be more theoretical/ideological than practical, but I'd say there are ideological resons to not care about these things as well, so I don't.

I think that the popular Stable Diffusion GUIs can generate seamless images and therefore be usable for this (the most popular one by Automatic1111 can), and there may be some pretrained models specifically for game textures as well. I don't know what's the status of Radeon support, but those with NVidia cards can probably run it locally, after optimizations it needs less than 4 GB VRAM to run. I run it on a 6 GB GTX1060 without issues. And it's a ton of fun, although getting useful textures out of it won't be easy.

This "free game" had an outside audit done on it to help make sure that the total conversion from Doom 3 and all of its assets were legally protected. So there is definitely heightened sensitivity around these issues and they should not be dismissed out of hand.

I'm aware of this, because I post resources free to use, OpenSource and/or public or CC licenses...... In any case, it is always advisable to read the conditions and permissions that each site has.

It also contains assets from textures.com, which is in violation of their license, and some wiki page afaik still encourages their usage. That of course doesn't excuse doing something similar again, but if directly violating a license of an asset that should be traceable back to its source didn't cause any issues till now, the chance that using assets which at this moment are completely legal and very difficult to trace would cause any legal issues is miniscule.

Does TDM 2.12 add "30" to the list of FPS caps? I accidentally changed mine and had to look up a console command to set it back to 30.

Going from DarkRadiant to Trenchbroom feels like going back to the stone age. It's great at geometry (prevents invalid brushes and vertex drifting like no other), but... that's about all. It's terribly underdeveloped. So far behind on so many things...
Unfortunately it seems to be the only option for my Godot projects, as editors like DR and Hammer are too tied to the engines/games they were made for. (Hammer probably even has a license wall or something, anyway.)
Sorry, just needed to let this out.

Any Thief-Fan who also enjoys Soulslikes should give Lies of P a shot. The art direction is sooo incredible! Love it!

Server definitely still has some issues. I think I've narrowed down where the issue is, so I'll take a proper look after work.
