[Resolved] Allow player choice of "Put away weapons" behavior

Probably didn't make it into this beta, but it will be

#6232. Changed "Put Away Weapons" to "Sheathe Weapon" in key binding name.
#6232. Renamed cvar to tdm_toggle_sheathe.
#6232. Added "Toggle Sheathe" option in Controls menu.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Okay, so this is your personal patch, but why can't it be added into the beta itself? Or will this happen as well?

I wrote "Finalized version as of 2.11 beta 7" to mean both the implementation details are complete and the feature is included in 2.11 beta 7. Changes were made to both the source code and core assets.

As long as you have 2.11 beta 7 installed, you can use "Toggle Sheathe" (tdm_toggle_sheathe). No patch is necessary for 2.11 beta 7 and above.

Very cool! But how did you manage to get this into the core game so fast, while whatever snatcher or myself introduce never is considered for the core game, even as an optional feature like you provided ;)?

Daft Mugi not only makes suggestions and participates in the conversation but also creates, tests and commits (shares) ready-patches.

By the way, I don't want each and every mod or occurrence - including mine - to be part of the core game. I crave for a thriving modding scene alongside mapping.

Also as far as I know, the game used to work this way, and was changed at some point.

So really it's not a new feature but reverting the default back to the way it used to be, and also to be in line with other games like this.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

That makes sense, and I agree with snatcher, if everything would end up in the core game, our patches and mods would not be needed anymore :)!

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )
