Not at the moment, no. When I get home I can send you some reference pics. How about a broadhead while you're doing arrows?

Here's a pic of some bows...I had been thinking of a recurve bow, but hell, it's steampunk, couldn't he have some kind of compound bow? What do you think?

Thats what they do. Not exactly a concern for dousing arrows or nice tight gameplay though. Oh, and they're a decidedly modern invention. A recurve bow is a fine choice - simple, elegant, plausible. Mind you, if someone wants to sketch a medieval steampunk compound bow then I'm all ears (eyes).

On the subject of arrows, can the crystal tips take on a slightly tighter, pointier, knapped flint style. Something about them as is suggests that they won't fly to well in an unbalanced, zero points for the areodynamics kinda way.

I was actually thinking they were TOO pointed. They certainly are more aerodynamic than either of the two crystal sytles in the original games. I wouldn't change them.

Re: the compound bow...you're right, it isn't really necessary, so let's just go with a recurve bow. Something on the small side, like a meter high or so.

All you have to do is resize it in any 3d app. The best thing to do is to have a Doom human character impoted to your 3d app so you can get the scale right first time. Objects cn also be scaled in the editor surely?

problem is, that the arrows are ASE files and blender can't import ASE ;)

Very, very nice BT. I can't believe how much better they look over the T3 arrows.

Btw, I agree with oDDity...we should be using a human figure to base all our size comparisons on. Hard to judge the size of the arrow when we don't know the size of the books. :)

Bookcase and arrow looking really great BT. Maybe you should texture all the funiture. I have a desk I could upload for texturing - the one in the 'more objects' thread. YOu could do all those objects if you want. No pressure)

Will the feathers at the tail end of the arrow have any sort of irridescence to them? I think it'd be cool if they had a slight irridescent quality to them, as some bird feathers do. Nothing too bright, just something nice and subtle for the detail-oriented player to enjoy looking at when they walk up to pluck their mis-fired arrow out of a wall :)

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Trying to be productive on my down-time before Capcom releases Akuma and my son is constantly on my PC playing Street Fighter...

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )
