Just to clarify for anyone who is confused by all the mayhem.

I'm confused. I just tried this out following the instructions of creating the /video folder and renaming to idlogo.roq, but that just replaces the little id opening movie. Is that where this is supposed to be going?

Logically, I would assume that this would be placed 'before' the id logo movie...for the 'loading game/ loading menus' screen that appears before the id logo movie starts. I think for Dark Mod, we will want to disable the id logo roq by default. Just put +disconnect in your darkmod shortcut.

I still prefer the city/forest background of the original. Putting a couple screenshots in takes away from the parchment effect, IMO. The black and white outline drawings were perfect for that.

I like your mission loading screen quite a bit, on the other hand--that's where the screenshots really belong. The black bars at the top and bottom are great and useful for including quotes and the like if we wanted to do that, as drumple mentioned.

that was a quick method to test how a roq will look ingame, and not where the actual video will be shown,

its just a quick way to see how things will appear without doing a gui/shader ect.. for testing.

and as for disabling the id logo in the final product, and im not shure if you have discussed it before, but has

anyone considered having a 'broken glass studio's' logo?, it would actually have nothing to do with the darkmod

but instead just a logo/vid for the team, and that could replace the idlogo.

just a thought.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
