  1. == Punishments == You dont want to be a thief or a counterfeit coiner in the 15th century in Deventer. if you get caught, people push your head in a copper kettle containing boiling oil. And the copper kettle will be dangling at the side of the weigh house, for centuries. (and shot at by spanisch millitary men, for target practice) Other punishments were beheading, hanging, crushing our all your bones on a breaking wheel. The holes for the Scaffold are still located at front of the old city court house/jail.
  2. There is no binary installer package for the 64 bit version, that i know. (there is a onpublisched 32bit package) Please let us now which packages are needed to install TDM 64 bit on a linux distro. Then i will be happy to write/improve some instructions on our tdm wiki article.
  3. As you already know, i live in a Hanseatic League city called "Deventer" in the Netherlands. Last weekend i took a nice guided tour in my own 1250 years old home-town. Learned some interesting facts from the medieval time, i will post them in this topic. (if you want more, please let me know and i will post some more facts.) == Avoiding high citytax rates == In medieval times in Deventer, They graded the tax rate, by the amount of doors and windows you have on every side of your house. To avoid the high tax charges, people immure some of their doors and windows. At "Bergkerk plein" (translated mountainchurch square), there are some buildings with using this trick. (look at another house with blue streetsign "kerksteeg", above the red mailbox.) (Movement in streetview: hold leftmouse button to look around. mousescroll = zooming in. left click on arror to get another location) == City map == == Old city map of deventer. year 1652. (see attached image) (other maps on google images: google images) The city goals is to trying to preserve old things from our city. So, the city border-shape still exists. Map on google maps: Deventer, zoomed in at city center
  4. I got the same problem at a other system, it still downloads tdm_update_2.05_to_2.06.zip. I solved of it by removing the read-only permission on the tdm folder, give myself write permissions. (as always and fixed with my tdm installer) run tdm (so tdm creates some new files) run updater again to download some new files. rerun updater to check if everything is ok. start tdm Check if you have already install 2.06 (see version number at the bottom leftside of TDM's main menu.) If not: Open windows explorer and navigate to your tdm folder. rightclick tdm folder > properties > tab general > uncheck readonly > ok > check checkbox all for underneath folder and files rightclick tdm folder > properties > tab security > edit > add your account to it and check all allow-permissions checkboxes. Log out and log in. run tdm-updater. close tdm-updater run tdm to check version number. close tdm run tdm updater end@TDM updater packager: Please recalculate the hashes. And create a script that removes the Visual C++ redist installers after it is installed.
  5. Dont know. But the first thing to come to my mind is: reloadSounds;reloadSounds;reloadSounds; Or run a script: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Scripting_basics
  6. I tried the shootbook-bug and it worked!
  7. Thats a nice mod Its a must-play! (some favourite maps are: trench, thesunspire, bluff) Unrealed is my first leveleditor i ever tried to use. I edited existing maps for Unreal tournament 1 mod Thievery-ut: Freyks haven. (based on illhaven-saga) https://store.steampowered.com/app/13250/Unreal_Gold/ After the installation, I recommend installing Patch 227I, that lowenz pointed to. use "Installer for Unreal versions with Return to Napali" and select the direct3d9 or opengl videodriver. And hd texture mod: http://www.moddb.com/mods/high-resolution-unreal-skins For some beautiful maps: https://www.oldunreal.com/maps/single/ (tip: personal favorite map-suite on that list "shrakitha") Thanks for the heads up, lowenz.
  8. Dont know, But in theory, you can play tdm with your steam controller from your system, if you add tdm as a nonsteam game to steam, run this from steam and if there is a gamepay profile. (or you can select a gamepad profile and edit them to your liking)
  9. Got my joypad working with TDM! Start steam. Go settings > controller settings. There select checkboxes "xbox configuration support" and "generic gamepad configuration support". Close steam. plug the joypad into your system start steam. Steam detect your joypad and advices you to go big picture view. Then start TDM, you will get a controller profile selection screen and Select "TDM shadrach bindings" profile. end
  10. By "keybinders doesnt work with steam link", i meant, the keybinders doesnt detect the same joypad, coming from steam link. About controlling the games, i was amazed by some games you dont have to configure your joypad, like deus ex breach, deus ex man kind devided and limbo, Controlled games with wasd-keys + joypad mouse-look in half life 2,deus ex 1, doom 3 (at first time)
  11. Yes, but those keybinders doesnt work with steam link. Steam link uses joypad feature of a game, that tdm apperently doesnt have.
  12. Yes, TDM doesn't work with a gamepad, but Doom 3 does. Is this, once again, a internal existing feature that the team removed? And Is it possible to put it back? Ok, you can connect a joypad to your system and use a systemkeybinders to work (like antimicro, xpaddle). But this is not the standard way. Overall everything works nice, only the controls in TDM messed up.
  13. thanks for updating the official yt page.
  14. Experimenting with TDM on Steam Link on Android. see topic http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19432-tdm-on-steam-link-for-android/

      freyk

Did the TDM team removed D3's internal Joypad feature? (tdm works only with systemkey binders for joysicks)

Thanks to shadrach, i got my joypad working in TDM on steam link!

  15. Some days earlier, Valve released a beta of Steam link for android. With this you can play your games from your system to a android device. (it streams only the players view, audio and control between your system and android device.) I noticed that you can play also non-steam games on steam link, So In this topic i will report and post small updates, how i run TDM on steam link on my TV. I want to hear your experience with this, questions, comments, etc. == Gear == Device: TV. Sony bravia with android tv (version ??) Controller: Logitech gamepad F310 (it detect my gamepad but using now a wireless keyboard). Joypad wired conntect on tv, keyboard wireless.. System (laptop): Intel core i75700hq, 2.70ghz, 8 gb ram, IntelĀ® HD Graphics 5600 or "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M", windows 10. Network: wired Ethernet (15 mb's reports steam link, have to measure it myself) TDM: TDM 2.05 == Setup == Connecting devices: Setup your network settings so the two systems on are the same network. (it did configure my software firewall) Install steam on your system and steam link-app on your android device. Add tdm as a non-steam game in steam on your system Start steam link on your android device In steam link have to detect your system put in a connection-id that steam link give you, in your steam on your system. endConfigure joypad Start steam on your systemGo settings > controller settings. There select checkboxes "xbox configuration support" and "generic gamepad configuration support".Close steam.plug the joypad into your systemSteam detect your joypad and advices you to go big picture view. Then start TDM, you will get a controller profile selection screen and Select "TDM shadrach bindings" profile.end== Running TDM == Start steam on your system Start steam link on your android device. Inside steam link, Connect to your system in steam link, Steam on systems starts in big picture mode and you can select TDM to start from your library. end== Status == TDM start on Steam link! Every thing works! Missions loads. sound works. all smooth. Not fullscreen immediatly Controlling tdm i use my wireless keyboard, because Joypad doesnt work in TDM, (works in steam link) Cannot connect to system, when system is locked/screensaver/sleeping.
  16. Technical: It almost feels right, on this one Imho, The tdm part needed/needs your voice-over (also some other game parts) and the viewtime of the scene "feels" longer then the other ones. (I didnt timed the scene) Content: A great selection of games. but TDM looks a bit dated, between the other games.
  17. addition to nbohr1more post: right-click on the dark mod folder, uncheck read-only. Then select tab "Security" to give all users full acces (or some of it).
  18. Added a fifa 98 music mix on mixcloud: https://www.mixcloud.com/Freyk/ (im just a beginner)

  19. Mircea and i trying to make that dream possible, as you know,.... (some help would be fine)
  20. Cant help you with that. There is some info on our wiki. http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=DarkRadiant_-_Compiling_in_Linux On the dr you can also download also the binary package https://packages.debian.org/sid/darkradiant
  21. Hello Rooz, As Springheel mentioned, there are video tutorials. We collected them on a page on our wiki, named "DarkRadiant Video tutorials"
  22. Biker and all, some people should/need appreciate your (and somebodies) help, during the moments you spend your voluntary time on them. For the greenlight thing, Bikerdude set the step that others dont dare to, with his own money. community communication is even important than a team members communication. A team is created from a part of the community. But the community keeps TDM alive. Team members only set/take a direction. Biker: stop doing things you hate, and do the things you like. Give other members your teammember functions, you dont enjoy. And just be a part of this community: give your opinions on this forum, create in your own time great missions, give your advice to people, etc, etc)
  23. I see modding or using an existing object, as a tribute to the original creator. Because people dont copy ugly things, for using it themselfs. The mappers chooses the nicest existing assest from TDM for their maps. (that they never created themselfs) (i see this also as "copying" ) It would be nice if a mapper put a license for their map to follow. Mappers should copy only the parts you need and improve it to the taste of their own. Just like the tdm-team and community did, with id's d3-engine. But the mapper need to remember that they not created the used assests in their missions. Sooo, time for a little prayer: "Send love and praises, to the almighty Builder(s), Who created our beloved the TDM world, with his golden hammer. A world where we Create, Give and Take."
  24. Installing 32 bit packages to run tdm.x86 on a 64 bit linux os, is the known solution that every time works for the video part. (see other topics) But we need to know which packages are exactly needed (for system, video and sound). During the years, i gathered them in the tdm-wiki article. But i'm not a expert on this subject. Any help is appreciated (for starters, please check the wiki on several Linux issues. Pm your advice, so i or others can add them)
  25. Also the libgl 32 bit installed? (i cannot read that in your glxinfo) https://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/Diag/MissingLibGL (get the amd one)
