  1. Ok. Maybe it's a better idea to get a G Sync monitor for Nvidia cards anyway, that way you can be sure.
  2. One day i want to be banned, and have a thread like this about me.
  3. Newer Nvidia cards (series 10 upwards) also support FreeSync on top of that.
  4. To be honest, i quickly got bored of both Styx games. The level design is pretty ordinary/generic, and, the amount of enemies makes the game somehow repetetive, and uninteresting in the long run. I think the critics are quite right, with a score of about 70/100 for both games. They're not bad, but, not great either.
  5. Just wondering, but... do AI's react to swords which are lyeing around from knocked out or killed guards?
  6. TBH, this kind of disrespectful reply from someone who just got off the boat towards someone who has been a member of the community since pretty much the beginning, and also largely contributed to the development of the mod always makes me a bit sad. Especially when it's regarding such a silly point of view. Neither the Thief game nor this mod are simulating reality in any way. It's a work of fiction. And its gameplay was made to be a fun experience. In comparison, a game like Splinter Cell rather aims at presenting a realistic experience, but, guess what. It isn't realistic at all. Unless you ever waded through the complete darkness of a... lighted bureau complex. Again, using darkness as your aid is part of the game, no matter whether it is realistic or not. You could actually say that Thief is a lot more realistic than that, because it's at least halfway realistic that middle age castles weren't lighted very well. Again, though, as has been pointed out, it is no fun to make this aspect overly complex, because it would unnecessarily complicate the gameplay. I once pointed out that it would be nice to have a player shadow, and make AI react to it. But, i can well understand the reasoning to not have it, which is the same reasoning as here. Because it makes the gameplay unnecessarily complicated.
  7. lol Not sure about that either...
  8. It'll be hard for a "small indie team" to provide good graphics, good artwork, and missions the size which would do a Thief game justice. I can't even imagine something like TDM being created nowadays.
  9. I think that would be a bad idea for gameplay. Knocked out guards would probably alert half of the staff. Apart from that, it would bring too much confusion, and, in my opinion, there's got to be at least a fair amount of predictability.
  10. It's a different game, but... I find that Dishonored is very Thief-like. It has a lot of elements of Deus Ex as well though, but, that's a good thing in my book. Definitely check that series out, if you haven't already. Quite similar atmosphere.
  11. As i wrote above, i rather have missions feature more weapons, than actually invent new weapons. So we have gas arrows. Very few missions actually have gas arrows in them. I get that those are a bit tricky, because they're quite might, but... may not be a bad idea to incorporate a few of them in the missions. Would also make a great diversion to the blackjack. Also, wasn't there a gas mine? Not sure now.
  12. Unfourtanetely, only very few missions really feature gas arrows.
  13. I just realized that i understood this the other way around. Guess i'll try out the console hack then.
  14. I was wrong, by the way, by saying that it's the first offspring of the marriage between Obsidian and Microsoft. It'll be published by their former publisher. Still looking forward to the game, of course.
  15. Not that i'm aware of... at least i didn't change anything there. In regards to VSync.
  16. The funny thing is that TDM did that for quite a while now for me (for a couple of years), without me having changed anything in the configuration...

  18. If that's a bug, then it's the most wicked bug i've heard of, so far.
  19. Yeah, that should be the most important question. Some missions DO have dead AI's lying around, or, AI's getting killed. Not "a lot" though.
  20. That wouldn't surprise me at all, considering that's a pretty common theme for people declining DRM.
  21. Actually, i'd retreat from my former point a bit, and say that the kind of thinking (flat earth and stuff) is actually something which isn't totally extincted yet. When you look back in time, people believed all kinds of things, which weren't explicable. The fact that we should know better these days surely has a point, but, i don't expect stupid ideas and thinking to have completely died out. Yet.
  22. Frankly... all that i'm seeing is that it brightens the picture, and adds a bloom effect. Is that it? Really, looks much better without the reshading.
  23. I must also admit that i like the no reshading screenshots better. Again, though, i'm really not a good measure stick, because i don't have a problem playing with those old graphics in all their... glory... It's also kind of a mental thing for me. Nice graphics are nice. But, to say it with the guy from Big Lebowski, the head is the main erogenous zone (or however he said it in English ).
