  1. I tried Revision briefly, but, meh... already in the first mission, i saw that they added a whole lot of enemies, which makes it pretty hard right from the beginning.
  2. Who would pay for the rent anyway, when he steals anything else. In Thief 3, you could even steal from the landlord, and he doesn't seem exactly on the right side of the law either, considering he got some money from an illegal business (which you could steal too...). Not sure what kind of business that was though, but was something shady.
  3. Always wondered what the point is of speedruns, other than that you know the game pretty well, and you know the level by heart. Especially for a Splinter Cell game, or any other stealth game, that way of playing robs you of everything those games represent.
  4. The only example of a good modern AAA-game which comes to mind is GTA 5. That's nothing short of amazing. I wonder if any of those kids playing the game can even value how great that game really is. Rockstar Games do have it a bit more easy though, they know they have a quality product, and they got to know what the people like about their games, and deliver. What does the Thief reboot deliver for example. It only shares the name with the Thief franchise, apart from that, it plays like a totally different game.
  5. 99,9% of modern games suck i'm afraid. They play like a movie, and not in a good way. They just simply get rid of the players responsibility too much. Back in the days, you had to learn games, and that might have taken hours. Nowadays, you will be thrown into total action in the first level, learn the game via tutorial at the same time, and in 10 minutes, you're done (Deus Ex Mankind Divided *cough cough*). Plus they overwhelm you with visual bogus, you have to play, or have to deal with characters you can't identify with, and you get action non-stop, because it is too boring for the kids otherwise. The action-ification of series like Splinter Cell, or Tomb Raider really says it all. I stick with old games, newer games are just not my case anymore. Dishonored 2 perhaps, but apart from that, nope. I want depth, atmosphere and GAMEPLAY instead of cool graphics, character, and all that nonsense. TDM is sort of the antithesis to that btw. Just like the old Thief games.
  6. Well i guess everyone here owns those anyway, so maybe wasn't really necessary to post the offer here. At least i believe everyone SHOULD own those. Non-believers shalleth by smiteth by the hammer.
  7. Unfortunately i own the german version, and there seems to be no no-cd for that on GCW. Edit: My bad, it's the Euro version, not the german one. Edit 2: I just saw that the patches are merely for the multiplayer, so i can just patch the v1.0 version too. I will try that then.
  8. A "No K.O." objective might make sense in missions, or part of missions where you're supposed to disguise your presence. Other than that, i don't see a point in them. I do see a point in the "No kills" objective though, firstly "you are a thief not a murderer" , and secondly, your employer, or the people you deal with after a break in, like fences, probably don't like too much attention, and a job where you murder the whole household will probably draw a lot of attention, hence it will always be better to not kill anyone (on the other hand, it might not be a problem to murder someone from the city watch, when he gets in your way, so it might be best to make the objective not to kill civilians). For the loot objective, i think that most missions get it right on the hardest difficulty, and ask you to get a reasonable, but challenging amount of loot. To be honest, in many missions, i feel like the loot requirement could be made a tiny bit more difficult. But that's only a minor issue, most get it right really. I rarely ever get the full amount of loot in a mission though, but, hey, that's a motivation to replay the mission then. Btw, that "loot sack" idea is great.
  9. Did you guys manage to run Pandora Tomorrow on Windows 10? I can't get it to start, i always get the error message which is also described here, in the comments: I read it has to do with the copy protection. I also tried a no-cd crack (i own a legitimate copy of the game), but, unfortunately, that didn't work. Would love to play the game again... i have been playing part 1 and 3 not too long ago, but haven't played PT for ages, and i remember it being great.
  10. Once again the Thief games are to acquire cheaply on GOG.com: https://www.gog.com/game/thief_gold
  11. I could really imagine that well on the dinner table of some noble Lord, who goes hunting in the woods with his noble colleagues in his spare time.
  12. I probably didn't give it enough time, agreed, but, it showed all the stuff i dislike about modern games in the first level already. Of course, they will want to give you a "BAM" experience in the first level, but, frankly, i'm not someone who gets impressed by quantity, and this and this and this and that to do, but rather by substance, and i didnn't really saw that much. Instead, it sort of plays itself, like a movie. Back in the days, you had to learn how games "tick", and after hours of playing, you found out, Nowadays, they try to explain everything in the first 10 minutes. Which isn't the way i want it really. IMO, they should have made an intro, explained how Jensen lost all his augs and abilities, and then learn the player slowly everything which is needed for the game. And not throw you into a seemingly critical mission, overwhelm you with everything you can do in the game, and almost remote control you through the level. Anyway, each to his like, and i'll surely buy it again, when it'll be on a sale, but i wasn't really impressed with what i saw in the first 2 hours. YMMV. Oh, and i really hate timers in missions, or to act quick to save someone, or to destroy a chopper. Especially in the first mission, that's ridiculous IMO.
  13. Screens look cool, and the comments sound promising too. Think i found my next-to-play mission.
  14. Frankly, at the end of the first (tutorial) mission now, and already can't be arsed anymore. Suffers from the same problems as Human Revolution (lack of a challenge, almost plays by itself), and the general problems of games these days (too casual, too much stuff overwhelming you, visually, and acustically, no real gameplay depth). I will really refrain from buying any more games this year, maybe Dishonored 2, if it doesn't look too shabby, because part 1 for me was one of the few highlights in the 2010's, but, apart from that, i'm not really the target audience anymore. Fallout 4 already was a huge disapointment for me, and this now too. Meh. Oh, and may i also say that i f***in' hate time limits, or forcing me to rescue a team member in the very first tutorial mission of the game under a time limit? Le bullshit. Edit: Nice, Steam actually gave me a refund, because i only played 2 hours and 23 minutes, and stated that i didn't like the game. Good stuff.
  15. Oh, cool, thanks for pointing that out. I'll do a check. Getting these results on my system, with the "high" preset in Mankind Divided: CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 3.3 GHzGraphics card: NVidia Geforce GTX 770Sound card: ASUS Xonar DSMotherboard: ASUS Z87-KRam: 8 GBOS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Good enough to play i guess.
  16. Yeah! Especially as they don't seem to hassle the player like in Human Revolution, where you got "Get going, faster, faster!" hints right from the start, and even missions changed according to how much time you took before missions e.g.
  17. I can play on high settings with my 2 GB VRam GTX 770. The main thing consuming the VRam seems to be the MSAA option, at least that one gives out a warning, when you try to activate it. On high settings, i get an average of 47 fps or higher in Dubai with my system. Anyway, if it's siginificantly less in Prague, then i'll have to see with my settings. So far, it's running quite ok. What do you guys think of the difficulty? Seems pretty easy on Deus Ex in the first mission. But then, you have all the augs and stuff, it probably will get more difficult after you lose those (which i assume will happen). Too much happening in the tutorial mission too, so much stuff being told... i really wished they would teach you all that in the course of the game, not all in the first mission.
  18. Frankly, not a big fan of such games. And i don't find them particularly "Thief-like" either.
  19. Yeah, i guess it highly depends on the rest of your hardware.
  20. There's some tips on how to improve performance, and keep the visual here: http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-get-the-best-performance-out-of-deus-ex-mankind-divided/ I'm still downloading, hope i can play later. I guess i will start on medium to high settings, and see how it works.
  21. That makes sense, because i did find, and enter that area before finishing all objectives.
  22. Thanks for the tip. I did so, but the savegames won't work now... The Dark Mod always crashes, saying it doesn't work anymore, when i try to load one of the old savegames then. Well, unfortunate, but, finished the mission anyway. Was a really enjoyable mission btw, one of the best i've ever played. Will do the poll now.
  23. Just tried again, all objectives completed, still doesn't work. Here's a link to the savegame: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_Z4o7FE5cmycnl3SlJJOUhfSGM Hope it works for you.
  24. Guess i'm stuck then. Unless there is some kind of switch, or anything i have missed. I will check on the mission objectives again, but apart from the ones which are done at the end of the mission, i can't really see what i have missed.
