What are the two Most Annoying DarkRadiant Issues?

ive never had clone issues.

maybe one thing that gets me is say i select a bunch of brushes, turn to func)static, hide entities..

the selected func_static is hidden but still selected, then it's hard to select other things and it woul be easy to clone that hidden/selected brush and maybe not realize it.

Can anything hidden be ubselected as it is hidden?

Nevermind, I've solved my own problem with the entity window. Just use alt+o (hotkey for the OK button) and it no longer matters what the window does. Awesome!

The problem there appears to be that the entity window refuses to be resized downwards, probably due to the model preview window. Possibility of this being fixed in the next release, or am I just unlucky?

The only issue I've been annoyed with recently has to do with rotating entities. When the origin of a let's say Door entity is aligned along the side of the door like it needs to be, when trying to rotate the entity, rotates it around the origin, causing the entity itself to rotate in strange ways.

I remember reading that entities have a general point of origin based on the average distance to center or something like that, which is where the origin "vertex" is positioned. Would it be possible to have the entity keep the original origin point exclusive to the origin vertex?

I'll try and post some screenshots later I don't think what I just wrote makes much sense.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Just a response to the OP (didn't read the thread to prevent getting distracted...):

  1. I am using the embedded window layout. It would be nice to have a key that toggles render view to get maximised when needed. For me it could as well be bound together with the actual RMB in render view.
  2. Is there a "drop item to floor"-function? I think I have seen something like it in some pretty outdated game editor...

Keep up the good work, thanks for rocking it!

I already requested the "floor" option years ago, but Greebo doesn't have time for a feature like that, it would be difficult to implement, but that was years ago.

Yup was over 2 years ago looks like: http://bugs.angua.at/view.php?id=698

You can bind a shortcut to the "ToggleFullScreenCamera" command in the Edit Keyboard Shortcuts menu.

The floor option is definitely more work, not impossible at all, but requires a couple of quiet coding days in a row.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
