Cloaked figure?

Cloaked or robed? We have a couple robed characters yet to be rigged (similar to the priest), but an actual cloak would probably need its own set of bones and would be very difficult to animate.

Ideally, this:

A robed figure might also work, as long as there's no distinctive head gear.

I'm looking for something seen from a distance. If nothing's in the works, I can do Plan B, which is to create a patch to simulate the presence of someone through a silhouette.

You're working on an FM, grayman? Well if you are willing to accept a compromise of just a patch silhouette then a better compromise is make something like the alchmest in The Alchemist (extract that as a start point if you wish.)

Create a robed priest

Make a dark skin for his robes etc.

Give him the hooded head

Make two or three dark fabric patches each to be part of an outer cloak

Make each func_static and either set up a def_attach or bind them to parts of the body, eg part hangs from the hips; part from the shoulders to overlap slightly the lower part; part over the head and shoulders to overlap the part below. Make all fabric including the AI and head skin the same fabric.

By careful adjustment to minimise clipping during movement and by keeping it dark and in the distance it should be acceptable.

Based on the concept art (via Darkfate.ru), there ought to be both inquisitor-like cloked folks and mage-like cloaked forms in the depths of the TDM repository. How far along they are, I have no idea, but they are mighty promising.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

These models are there in LWO format, but they are still hi-poly, meshes need to be split into materials, feet need to be added, shadowmeshes need to be added and the whole thing needs to be rigged. It's also possible that some textures are missing, but I'm not sure about that.

Inquisitors just need to be re-rigged to the new skeleton. The mage needs a great deal of work.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
