Hello Democracy: Goodbye Acta

The European Parliament has defeated the international Anti-Counterfeit Trade Agreement, also known as ACTA, with a decisive 478 votes against the controversial treaty versus just 39 in favour and 165 abstentions. While 22 of the 27 European member states had already signed up to ACTA, the vote blocks the treaty from taking effect in those states, and will likely hurt its adoption around the world.

Another good bit of news, every now and then the EU bureaucratic machine does something good.

Hey pussi, don't forget Germany, where (according to Wiki) 100.000 ppl in 55 cities protested even in the face of arctic temperatures.

My Eigenvalue is bigger than your Eigenvalue.

That's true. Same here!

The EU parliament may be large and bureaucratic, but one thing they really don't like is being left out of the loop. A similar thing happened with the software patents directive that the the EU commission and its unelected Microsoft puppets tried to push through a few years ago: the EU parliament made some improvements, the commission tried to ignore them and go ahead with its preferred version, and as a result the parliament voted to scrap the whole thing.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
