Betatesters needed for my OLD HABITS rebuild

Recommended Posts

In the last three weeks I have rebuilt my first FM Old Habits. I'm going to test it now by myself, but could use some betatesters to look at it. Anyone who is interested can post here, and I'll pm the link.

What I especially need

  • Someone who speaks good english (native) to check out my readables. It's not much, but it needs to be done.
  • Someone with basic TDM skills. He or she should have played some FM's already, but shouldn't consider himself as a pro to check if the mission is makeable under the lowest difficulty stting (the mission is quite hard I guess).
  • The complete opposite. Someone who is considering himself as a pro to tell me if the highest difficulty level is challenging enough.

EDIT:

Okay. Just played it (stealth score: 71) and discovered a couple of issues. Mostly minor things fast solveable.

@simplen00b, Moonbo: Yep, that would be useful. I'll pm you the xdata's. (And simple, I'll try to stick to the corrected version when I'm releasing ;) ).

@Springheel: As it has to be tested under 2.0 anyways this would be great. I'll pm you the link once I've uploaded it (have to check some fixes I did yesterday).

Cool, sent you a PM w/ my edits :-).

Had a look at them - excellent job! Just PM'd Obs with a couple of points (I picked up one typo, and had a suggestion about maybe re-wording one line in a letter) but otherwise it looked really good - better than I'd've done, really.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Trying to be productive on my down-time before Capcom releases Akuma and my son is constantly on my PC playing Street Fighter...

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
