I don't see baked occlusion as something to avoid. Textures with baked occlusion look better than those without.

If you download and install Unity, then download the unity package with all the house models and thier textures

I don't understand. Does that tell me which surface uses which texture? I don't see that information in the image.

There aren't that many different textures, actually, so it won't be exceptionally difficult to figure which goes where. It's just going to be time-consuming to do it for every model, and I have too many other tasks on my to do list right now to make this a priority. The models are quite low poly, so I'm not sure they are going to be terribly suitable for close-up use, though they could work as backdrops. I'll have to see how they look in game.

How many polys is considered lowpoly in this context?

"My milkshake bringeth all ye gentlefolk to the yard. Verily 'tis better than thine, I would teach thee, but I must levy a fee."

"When Kleiner showed me the sky-line of New York I told him that man is like the coral insect—designed to build vast, beautiful, mineral things for the moon to delight in after he is dead."

It's not so much the total number of polys, but the fact that none of the edges are beveled, which creates the same kind of sharp corners you get from brushes. It's okay at a distance but looks very artificial up close.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
