Also, where are screenshots stored, I can't find any I've taken?

In a folder called "Screenshots" in the directory that you installed the dark mod :)

Yes that's where I thought it would be but I have no such folder?

I added a 'screenshots' folder and it works, guess it's not there by default or wasn't created?

Thanks.

I don't think I ever created the folder myself but I do know that the dark mod has a dedicated screenshot key so perhaps you were pressing print screen instead of the TDM screenshot key? either way, glad that it works!

I got 2 * 5 points for 2 Alert 5's but stats say I was seen for 0m - 0s so why the points

An alert 5 means an AI saw you & went to full alert.

The time means you were seen for under a second, since it rounds to seconds.

Edit. Regarding the folder, make sure the top game folder has 'read only' access turned off (or write access turned on, however the checkbox works) in the right-click folder options. It sometimes happens for some reason, and that's one symptom.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

The AI is quite tough considering AI sight and Hearing is only on forgiving as I'm a newb and learning the game, obviously, I'm not as good as I thought at this game :D

'Read only' access was turned on

The AI are tough because without them there is no challenge to the game at all. If you're new to stealth, you might want to put them at their lowest levels.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
