Very high quality Art assets Free CC0

I came across this site: https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en

They offer incredible quality pictures of art.
I emailed them about including their images free of charge under CC license and they replied with:

They are pretty amazing quality, just for testing I made one with a pretty picture and threw it in the game.

You can get uncompressed TIFF's that are also available for free, but you have to request each one.

In general many museums offer high quality content for free download, it is worth looking for the official pages of the museums on the net.

I see, only issue I can see is that the few I tried downloading are really small. 512x638 isn't good enough.

Sorry, I didn't think of that. What is a good minimum resolution? But yeah it's not really comparable to what Rijksmuseum offers (although Rijksmuseum also shares on that site).

 

Edit: For what it's worth: https://www.vangoghmuseum.nl/en/about/organisation/terms-and-conditions/use-and-permissions-of-collection-images (these are not low quality images I think)

You can use also Pixabay, there are more than 1 millon of images in HD, free with Public Domain license, also vectors, videos, soundfiles and music.

To make it easier, you can add Pixabay also to your search engines

PS. Downloads are 100% free, but only up to your screen resolution, for full HD 4k and avoid the reCaptcha before Download, you need a free account (Nick, mail, password).

I dom't use it, i found it here with the filter set to OpenSource. the TOS and PP isn't excluding for an OpenSource app, if they use ads mean that they also need to pay an server for this online service. OpenSource is not synonymous with free either, perhaps after the beta phase it is no longer free, so perhaps you can take advantage of the fact that it is still free to create a series of textures that can be used or search another one in Futuretools. AI generated textures and assets, by definition, don't have any copyright, so you can use them as you want.

You got that because you selected free and open source, so it lists both free and open source together. If you select only open source, you don't see it.

Yes, because i think that mostly a free app o service is interesting for TDM, and not all OpenSource is free to use, eg, if it is an online service, it can be OpenSource, but the server has a cost. ProtonMail and ProtonVPN are OpenSource, but free versions are limited, amount of Data in the Mail and amount of servers in the VPN., creating incommings with its Premium services.
