Didn't nbhormore/AluminumHaste say that in 1.08 the issue with Cat Ai is not no longer an issue?

 

Yes I have Catalyst AI set to Advanced and I have no issues that were present in 1.07.

Speaking of which since I'm running Catalyst 12.8 I'm going to try 1.07 right now to see if the problems are still there, or if ATI fixed those issue in their drivers. (Unlikely I know lol)

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

You must be using old drivers because the new CCC don't have that option anymore, btw disabling catalyst AI with the moddb method and on CCC will disable crossfire on all games, disabling with RadeonPro will only disable it on the game profile used.

You can disable AI based on app profiles with CCC too:

I wrote "you must be using..." so i was just making a assumption because i have the 12.7 beta drivers installed and theres no option to disable catalyst AI, a option that was present in older drivers, so my reply, if it was introduced in the new 12.8 i don't know, about the CCC games profiles, i was again making a assumption based on my version of the CCC, there´s no way to disable C AI on it with profiles either.

What i said about crossfire is true and you can go to Rage3D forum and verify, disabling catalyst AI permanently using the moddb method will disable crossfire on all games.

My bad I misinterpreted the tone of your reply. Those options however were present with 12.7 beta also.

I'm pretty sure they've always been there since I switched to ati a few weeks ago.

I'll check my win 8 install as I'm using the 12.8 drivers there also.

 

Edit: also I've been a member of rage3d since oh 2004ish.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Are you are running an older pre-5000 card..? as I have found that on the latest driver and ATi card of 5000 series or above and on windows vista and above the disable Ai option is missing and has to be done for a convoluted per-game-profile basis.

I don't know guys, try nuking your ATI drivers completely then installing latest versions. I just installed Windows 8 RTM preview 2 weeks ago now, and am currently running it right now. Here's a screenshot of the CCC:

I'm on a laptop if that makes a difference, Alienware M17x R1, running 2x ATI 5870m which are based on the desktop 5770 card. (Both Juniper XT).

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh?       I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
