  1. On PC? I'm lucky if I know how turn on and off a DOS machine anymore!
  2. From John Doe in Oregon vs Microsoft? Only maybe if someone will want to use it on a political agenda, maybe like with some Bill Gates controversies with them being monopolists and all that, but not sure if it'll happen. I guess Apple could use that... What is ridiculous is that people will still use Windows for the most part so complications will continue to arise either from Windows 10 or any other problem Microsoft has with it's products. Without competition they don't feel the limits on some things.
  3. I'm on an i3 Dual Core 2.1 Ghz It's a desktop PC, doesn't really have much problems. I dunno, VLC was unstable for as long as I remember it though. Usually I use Media Classic Player because it's more robust in my humble opinion.
  4. Doesn't seem to crash with VLC. By dragging another video into it you mean opening another video right when the current one is playing?
  5. Also, a useful article if anyone decides to migrate a device to Windows 10 after all: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-many-secrets-of-the-windows-10-start-menu-do-you-know-11363997821398
  6. Interesting of you to mention VLC. I used it last time many years ago on Win XP. Will try that.
  7. Didn't notice that yet. Surprisingly even old games seem to work well. Some have developed graphic anomalies as expected with some pre-2000 games but it is usually easily fixable with compatibility mode and stuff like that. YouTube videos do seem to stop for no reason sometimes, but no crashing for me.
  8. The first thing I got reminded of was Prince of Persia. One of the best arabian themed games trilogy I remember (and the movie was surpringly good for what the shot was for).
  9. What is also disappointing is that outside of the US Cortana doesn't work without tweaks and modifying some settings artificially. I installed Windows 10 already though so I don't feel like all the hurdle is worth going back to Windows 7 again - the installation process is equally as painful as it was with previous iterations of Windows (the Windows Update center takes ages to install the update from there). But.... I suppose making a free OS doesn't oblige them to forsee that troubleshooting.
  10. I think invisible walls is too cheap. The ideal options is not to make the levels reachable from the start to see beyond what you are supposed to see. Some multiplayer games even change the levels - adding/removing walls, windows changing the place to avoid exploits obviously. For The Dark Mod it's not bad but St. Lucia in general could use an update ( not necesarily in this). But, YES sometimes people love to feel smarter than the mapper and the developer
  11. Yes it's going to take forever to install unless you get an .iso file on an external usb drive or a virtual drive.
  12. I think they stamp out such replies daily. Not like they can disclose that anyway due to some legal agreements most likely. I don't really think there is so much evil behind that but if people didn't want to they wouldn't migrate to Windows 10 either. 90% of people just want an easy to use OS. Nothing more, nothing less.
  13. Well, let's say the crowbar only breaks the lock but the door still closes through the door knob (like most doors after lockpicking them). I think that would be good, at least as a placeholder. I have a safe at home that was broken with a crowbar. I don't remember what we did with the locks but what is most evident is simply the physical deformation of the object the crowbar is applied to in order to achieve the following: a) the lock just slips through that deformation if the space is big enough and the metal is weak enough the lock itself is broken (but that depends on what quality is your lock, how strong it is)
  14. Well, when the other things are done I think it would be very welcome. However crowbars in my mind are closer to burglary rather than silent theft (for obvious reasons). I think that if the weapon gets in-game it shouldn't be rushed but carefully tested. And all of the coding is going to be a hard task too. The cool concept is that a crowbar can be used to break metal safe doors with enough force applied in case you don't have lockpicks for example.
  15. Oh I was talking about Star Wars Jedi Outcast. Didn't play Jedi Academy.
  16. Well my say is that if you want to save and not buy games you'll never play is to get what you feel like most obviously. KOTOR 1 & 2 (the latter was updated nicely by Obsidian this summer, has a good Content Restoration mod, didn't try the game without it, many complain the game is bad without it, but it's easily installable now through Steam Workshop). To me KOTOR 2 was probably the most significant thing I checked out in the Star Wars universe that really, really touched the morality thing, tackled the point of jedies and siths, kind of an existential story if that is interesting to you. The bugs got more or less beaten, it's still not perfect but has widescreen support out of the box as well as Steam Workshop support and a very active community. KOTOR 1 in that regard needs some tweaking but it is also a strong game. It's a shame that even with the Restoration Mod it's still not quite there where Obsidian originally intended it to become. A kind of Lost Alpha like Stalker among RPG's I guess. The journey was worth it nonetheless. Tie Fighters if you're into old games (which may work better if bought on GOG.com). Though it might be hard to get into them after so many years if it's your first time. About Jedi Outcast I can say that a couple of big time Star Wars people I know really look down on it. The story is meh and I doubt the combat is so amazing that Chivalry beats it. Sure maybe lightsaber combat yeah, but I guess when a real good Mortal Kombat with lightsabers comes out everyone will be aware of it! Battlefront 2 is also kind of good if you didn't play it yet. Has somewhat of a community and space battles! Basically Battlefield 2 in the Star Wars universe. There's also Star Wars Republic Commando that is supposed to be a good enough shooter but... I guess not without flaws such as weak story as usual. It's up to you of course.
  17. You can play games on OnLive-like platforms to not spend money on a new PC.
  18. Well, TDM works well on Windows 10. Testing it now on a device. There is a possibility to restore back to Win 7 within a month from installing Windows 10. Thus far no problems with TDM. What exactly was the issue? I remember someone around here mentioned something like that.
  19. "For clean water in Africa" - Bill Gates Thanks for choosing Windows.
  20. Thank you for the information. Your labour is invaluable. You are an example to me.
  21. By 2.04 TDM will fully support Windows 10? I have a feeling a lot of people are going to ask this in the future if something doesn't work as intended.
