  1. By the way Dram, opened your map yesterday, hadn't realised SVN added it, to be frank I hate you . Stupid talent! It actually brings D3ed to a halt though. You must have a damn good PC.
  2. The problem with the lunar calendar is that a set date moves about the seasons, so Ramadan was supposed to be the hottest month, but it actually moves about from solar year to solar year. Think that's why Easter is odd as well perhaps?
  3. That's good, I am using some D3 stuff, decals for example, in my maps.
  4. Ah what, haven't finished TG! TII I can understand, the last 2 missions are very dull, but TG has some great levels! Plus I quite liked the old school adventure game type sections at the end somehow.
  5. You could use it in a follow the tracks mission, track someone down through a large snowy maze-like city. Wow that would be ace.

    Gas Bot

I like the tears to be honest. It's like the many off SS2, sad but attacking you. I think that's really interesting although I'm struggling to explain why. I think you're progressing well there.
  7. Sounds good, if the technique is on the wiki you can just copy and paste, don't have to memorise the exact code.
  8. I mean a mapping prefab if you didn't get me. Which means that the models are individual, you just insert a copy and pasted DarkRadiant map into the map you're working on. So then you'd have individual models, and flexibility, but for the lazy person you could import this tray. The prefab tray would be lots of models, so the physics would work as normal. It's just a way of storing positioning.
  9. You could have a prefab tray perhaps? With the models set up on the tray, prefabs are small I think, like tiny maps.
  10. Hmm can't remember with Oblivion. The LOD effects were crap, that's all I remember. I know they have particle leaves, and if you spin under the tree it does look wierd as the sprites rotate with you, like in Dungeon Keeper. But no-one notices or complains. $8,500 is nothing really. Under 5 grand UK pounds. Big commercial games are made with 40 people, and cost millions, Speed tree is so cheap that what Nyarla says seems irrelevant in the context of big budget games. Of course for mods it's pretty much right, unless we have someone with 5 grand burning a hole in their pocket....
  11. We have speedtree? Last update I got (still downloading SVN one!) there were model trees.
  12. I doubt that TDM will have that sort of AI programmed into it initially, but I'm sure through scripting you could set this up. For my streets level I'm just going to say (If I ever take it to completion) "There is a curfew, no-one should be out except guards". I believe it wouldn't be too hard to bung in some other shifty charecters who would be classed as enemy by the police so would get killed. Hopefully this wouldn't mean the police would then be on the lookout for you, though I don't know.
  13. Can you put them on imagehosting.com or Theimagehosting.com, imageshack isn't working at the moment, I can't see your textures. The whole thing is overloaded, they need more capacity.
  14. Any plans with the MMB texture painting to have a modifier which applies the texture to the whole brush as opposed to a single side, like how MMB -> shiftMMB works in D3ed?
  15. How did you do it? Seriously I am tearing my hair out at Garretts rubbish ability!!!!! "Uh" he says as he falls! NO JUST GRAB IT!
  16. I'll tell you what going back to TII mantling is irritating. Playing "Thieves' Highway" FM, Garrett says "I wonder if those windows open"... yeah I'd lockpick that one IF I COULD MANTLE ON THE SILL AND NOT FALL DOWN! Pain in the arse. Plus not having a dedicated mantle button so I end up jumping on marble floor >. Can't believe anyone would ironman any TII mission involving jumping, mantling, or ladders.
  17. Any chance of Dram's custom particles being incorperated into the mod?
  18. Does he use a particle round each of the lights?
  19. The second vid looks damn good. The only problem is that he floats off the ground a bit, needs his clipping box changed perhaps?
  20. With the rotation surely just use the arbtitary rotation box? Chose some kind of good input for maintaing shape (45°) then snap to grid. Then you will maintain your shape and have a brush that won't create BSP holes or bugs due to not being on a grid.

    Compost

I'm waiting to see if we do some Borat voices to any Poles on this forum.
  22. When you chop up brushes with X in DR it produces caulk textures whereas in D3ed it produces textures based on what the other faces' textures are. The problem with all this caulking is that if you ignore it like I did you end up with holes in your level where light shines through as the back of walls are caulk which isn't rendered. So I had to find all the caulk, including in nooks and crannies between walls etc, and texture it. But generally you don't want caulk in your level. It's pointless (D3 removes unseen tris anyhow), and can be a problem. Could the chop function not use caulk in future?
  23. It's probably those bloody foreigners with their strange food eh Odd? Ruining our country. Bring back the Empire!
  24. "so I can earn more for one model that you earn in a week. What do you do?" Presumtive there! slavatrumpevitch might be a top surgeon, or businessman!
