Darkradiant 2.0 bugs:
New Horizon replied to Bikerdude's topic in DarkRadiant Feedback and Development
You can change the view in any pane by alt tabbing or something like that, can't you? I can't remember the exact keyboard combination. maybe they're just all defaulting to the top down view. -
Quite true. They really bring TDM missions closer to that classic Thief look.

I can't wait to see all of this in action. Hoping the hit will be less than the current sikkpin method so I can use it though. lol

The issue for us is that overhauling TDM to such a degree at this point would be suicide. Everything from the missions to the way the lightgem itself works would have to be fixed from the ground up. What we have works very well and continuing to improve what we have is the sane choice.

Any chance you could summarize the results for us non-coders? I have no idea what any of this stuff means.

OpenGL perf. on AMD/ATi gpu's: WIP fix.
New Horizon replied to Bikerdude's topic in TDM Tech Support
Exactly, I'm not sure where the confusion lies here since AMD have already confirmed that it is an issue. -
I would say it's a pretty low priority issue and the number of times it would be encountered probably wouldn't make it worth the effort.

Looks absolutely fantastic.

DarkRadiant 2.0.0 released
New Horizon replied to greebo's topic in DarkRadiant Feedback and Development
Congrats sir! -
Sorry, not sure I'm following. Will these changes be helpful for the soft shadows or only SSAO? Trying to follow along at work, so I'm probably not taking everything in at a glance.

I'm sure one or the other could be disabled if there were any clashes.

Yeah, I think it had to render the scene a few times to attain a mask to punch out the shadows, blur it, and then apply it back over the original image. If this could reduce that, wow...what an upgrade.

So can the work here potentially be used to reduce the high performance impact of soft shadows too?

A bit of both I suspect. The AI are a complete rewrite from the ground up.

Some questions about the A.I.'s patrol paths
New Horizon replied to chakkman's topic in The Dark Mod
It has always been there. -
There must be a way to render the texture without shadow though, right? Isn't the shadow simulation an option? Having pre-rendered shadows is going to make the textures next to unusable since the textures would have shadows baked into them that are all in the wrong position and would never move if a light were moving.

Anyone know a converter from GTK Radiant to DR?
New Horizon replied to NeonsStyle's topic in TDM Editors Guild
Hmmm. Looks like the last version to support Doom 3 officially was 1.5.x, however they say on the webpage that you can try using the gamepacks and it may still work, even though it's not officially supported. I suspect you should be able to install the gamepack and then save the map in doom 3 format. -
Anyone know a converter from GTK Radiant to DR?
New Horizon replied to NeonsStyle's topic in TDM Editors Guild
Doesn't GTK Radiant 1.6.x support Doom 3? I think you should simply be able to save your maps in doom 3 format in GTK Radiant and then open them in DR since DR is a fork of the GTK codebase. -
Good idea.

Deus Ex wasn't a reboot, it was actually a prequel.
