  1. So I tested it now and it works and you need to bind a second key to let it show again (afaik). Edit: Solution from Epifire: I was wondering if if you change the transparency to 0.5 for example, the hud icons might change constantly because the background is shown through it while moving around and therefore it isn't necessary to hide them on oled screens?. Or not?
  2. Ok, but I think it should be a recourse and the thief create a weapon from it, otherwise it makes no sense. I think it's fine to let the mapper decide how many lockpicks are used. I personally don't mind the 2 lockpicks, but it should be more interesting if the player can use both lockpicks in every instance, just only one of them will work and you have to find out which still by listening.

  6. Yeah, in 2.10 you can only see the version in the console. Press Ctrl Alt ~ , then bottom right in the console you see TDM version number.
  7. I saw this first used in Iris, then I thought adding a bunch of sticks (just one bunch of sticks icon) in the inventory would add realism. The idea is that when you pick up an arrow point, a stick is used automatically to create an arrow.
  8. So there was an idea to make a live background, but nobody made one (except for your tech demo). How strange. I wonder if this still aplies to 2.10 .
  9. What did you use in 1999? For this reason I use VA monitors, those (suposedly, because I have nothing to compare it with) give better black levels. Off course it's not really comparible to oled. You press CtrL-Alt-~ (or just ~ in Linux), then type: tdm_hud_opacity 0 tdm_hud_hide_lightgem 0 (not sure if needed with above) To bind that to a key that you press: bind "[BUTTON]" "tdm_hud_opacity 0" With [BUTTON] being a specific button, like the "H" key or something.   10. Well you don't have to change the visual style of the in mission gui's to change the main tdm menu's (or maybe you do?), just keep the style somewhat similar. I don't understand the problem really..
  11. I think a difficulty star rating based on user input is not a bad idea.
  12. I would love to play a Doom stealth game where you have to hide and sneak around scary monsters and solf puzzles harder than find the blue key .
  13. There's always the full download from moddb. You can also specifically select another mirror in the installer. This sometimes helps.
  14. I think it looks great and should be added to core as an option for mappers to include (although I think the audio isn't entirely fitting). This is how my tweaked mission selection screen looks. If the image was a slideshow and the text was scrollable, with a max height (I couldn't find a way yet how to include those) it would be even better. Now that I think of it, the mission selection screen and downloader could be merged into one screen. where the not downloaded missions have a download button and the ones already downloaded you can activate directly.
  15. Best i.m.o. is to alter New Job and Saint Lucia with (more) hints and tutorial aspects and/or including an extra tutorial mission. I rather would go with a poll for a bunch of prefered starter missions and then link to that on tdm main page. Inside TDM it should entirelly up to the player what he/she chooses. The mission downloader should have a better layout with filters and better graphics (screenshot slideshow directly visible instead of in sub menu). I already made some changes to the (2.10) mission selection gui for myself. I think every tdm intro logo gets old over time. I personally like the current one, just not with every mission.

  17. Just to be clear: Looking at the source files, is the idea to make this working by creating a mission in DR with the source assets? I mean there is no demo mission or something included?
  18. I think I did run into this once, but couldn't reproduce it later and therefore didn't post about it during beta.
  19. You have the option to install a previous version or a dev/beta version instead of the default latest stable release.
