  3. Hello there. I installed TDM, applied patch and it wont start mission. Game is asking me for DOOM 3 CD key. I understand this game is using doom 3 engine but it is free, is it? I bought my doom 3 seven years ago and it never asked me cd key till now. I dug all my house upside down but i just cant find CD case. Can this be bypassed somehow?

  7. Hi, I know that I've posted a few technical help questions on this forum about this before, but I really need some help. My doom3 copy is very "bugged". My Doom 3 is THE CORRECT 1.3.1 (BTW). Firstly. There is a doom 3 bug where corpses which are gibbed dissapear (as normal ). Then Reappear for a few seconds headless then dissapear. Secondly, Using most mods causes the crosshair to be positioned incorrectly. The bullet always hits the lower right of the crosshair. I use an ATI mobility 5730 card windows 7 x64 bit, for references. ATI CCC 10.7 Is this due to my faulty doom 3 CD? I've heard some people have this issue on the steam forums too. Thanks.
  8. [update] Spoke to Marcus @AMD UK on the phone and as it turns out a number of complaints have been made against "Spyre". My AMD forum account has been unbarred and my Ip address unblocked!!! Bought a new gfx card for xmas, been having issues with mainly the driver So I though a good place to look for support and polity vent etc - or so I thought My second post got flamed by some smart arse fanboy and then promptly locked, to which I reported the posted asking why it had been locked.. and then my account on there got deleted and my Ip blocked (untill the isp dhcp refreshed etc) so I cant login even with a different account name. I have emailed AMD directly about this as I did nothing wrong according the t&c's and I got no warning Pm or email from the forum mods. Now I've been over at the nVidia forums a long while back when I had the 8800GTX when I was equally frustrated when posting about the driver issue with thief etc, but at no point did a thread get locked or worse my account deleted. I don't have loyalty to AMD or nVidia but depending on the answer I get from AMD next week this card maybe going back and AMD will be added to the list of manufactures I will never buy anything from again.   11. Here's the press release: And the trailer. So it says "remastered for XBOX 360 and PS3", as well as "improved lighting and rendering". I wonder whether they mean that as an improvement from the original XBOX build, which was using a slightly nerfed idTech 4 engine, or whether the PC too will see a truly new engine build. Features like 5.1, stereoscopic 3D and gamepad support point towards an updated idTech 4, but will we see any optimization or changes in the rendering engine that might make the Dark Mod run better? This has the potential to impact the mod in interesting ways.

  19. First off - howdy all, brand new to the Forum, although I have played a little of the Dark Mod at a friends house, and was of course a massive Thief fan back in the day.. I've been lurking many times in the boards and site, and have decided I finally have to purchase Doom3 so I can experience the wonders that are the missions of the Dark Mod. Steam has it for £13.99 - would anyone here know anywhere I could get it cheaper? d'uh - first post and I come across like a cheapskate...!! Also just thought this may not be the correct board - many apologies, feel free to castigate the newbie.,,;o)

Shortly after Doom 3 was released, one of the best Demo coders out there, Humus, found evidence that part of Doom 3's lighting interaction was originally planned to be done via shader math instead of via texture lookup. Humus re-enabled this method and modified the way it worked so that ATI hardware gained significant performance. This change has been incorporated into ATI's driver since then and I suspect that this inclusion is the reason why Catalyst AI causes so much havok for things the the Parallax Mapping mod and JC Denton's HDR work... I have occasionally corresponded with Humus over the years but would not really consider myself "connected"... nevertheless I have sent an appeal to him to look into this ongoing work and provide is ATI specific OpenGL expertise...   22. Well, I've made some hacks on Doom3.exe in order to "convince" it to support 3Dc format (ATI1/BC4 and ATI2/BC5). Of course, all other texture formats still should work as well. I must admit that I haven't try these hacked Doom 3 executables with 3Dc normals, but I've ran both Doom 3 and TDM with these hacked executables, and everything seems was ok. Does anyone want to try? If yes, please notice that my archive consists of two executables: Doom3_LATC.exe and Doom3_RGTC.exe. Jean Michiel Paul van Waveren, id Software, and Ignacio Castaño, nVidia, think that LATC is more convenient than RGTC in some cases, so I provide both versions: LATC and RGTC. I must warn you: there is no warranty that my executables will work as it should, so use it on your own risk.
  23. 1. Is it possible to play the mod with a russian copy of Doom 3? 2. Should i install the same 1.3.1 patch I got from your wiki and simply choose the russian language pack as well? 3. After the mod is installed will it be in russian or english? 4. If in russian is there anything i can do to make it english?

I have been reading more of the history of this Mod at ttlg lately (boy... those folks can be really contentious...) and have been living vicariously through their feelings of wonder and discovery for every old milestone for the Mod. It so much more rich of an experience than occasionally checking Moddb or Filefront (etc) for the latest Doom 3 mods. Even Doom3world doesn't have this wild and wooley type of community. I'd like to see who out there is like me and came into this mod primarily via Doom 3. I suspect that it may be 2 to 3 members (but I think rich_is_bored is from the Doom 3 camp so I may be in good company ???)
  25. Just returned from a 7 day holiday, opened up this forum, had at least 4 pages of "new content". Made it past page 2 (to about June 03), and then had to take care of a few things here. When I came back, the forum had logged me out (timeout?), and when you log out, it forgets all "new content". So you log in, and it says "there is nothing new for you". Great, now I never know what I missed between May 30th and June 03.... grrrrrrrrr With email, you would still have all unread messages *sigh* Is there a way to change this behaviour? It has annoyed me in the past, but not as much as this time.. Edit: It's even worse, there is "no new content", but when I go f.i. into the "off topic" sub-forum, it still shows me threads as unread that I definitely already did read an hour ago. So I can't even just look at all the "unread" threads. Oh boy...
