  1. Google gives this many results: "1366x768" - about 10 million "1360x768" - about 1 million So it's somewhat common (with LCD TVs at least from browsing some of the results). I have to set the screen to 1:1 (centered) and I can see the 3 blank pixels on each side not being used

Try starting the training mission again only this time when it fails and kicks you back to the objectives screen, press CTRL + ALT + ~ to bring down the console and type "condump console.txt" to dump the contents of the console to a text file. Now attach console.txt to a post here so we can examine it for errors.
  3. this issue would rally be funny, if it would not kill the fun-factor for you :/ sorry, if have neither heard of such problems, nor do i have any further ideas... but sounds really strange, that the WORLD/MAP seems to go "crazy" but not the whole screen... well, one poor last idea would be to re-install the whole TDM/fm-data... if u didnt try this jet...
  4. I don't have an ATI card but an integrated intel card. It's not something you can take a screenshot of, because the problem is that the stretching is instant and changes directions. Just imagine that one second the screen is fine, then something instantly pulls it wide, and then it reverts, and something instantly pulls it tall. I've found that the driver I have has an update, I'll try applying that and see what works.
  5. I'm able to change the key bindings and the gamma only through DoomConfig, but I cant change the screen size and I don't know how to change the antialiasing through DoomConfig.
  6. I'm trying to change the screen but it defaults back to 640 x 480, I have tried changing the values to something else but it goes back to 640 x 480. I have noticed now that it doesn't change other settings too.
  7. Is Dark Mod storing settings other than video? Which video settings are you trying to change? If screen resolution then is it defaulting to 640 x 480? Try some other values. Perhaps doom3 is refusing your res even if your monitor supports it. Try 1024 x 768 to prove the theory. If so you might have to compromise.

  9. Hey all, I am just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem yet as I have been unable to find an open thread regarding it. I have just updated TDM with the updater, Launched the game and installed an FM as normal... TDM restarts, I go to new mission and the current installed fan mission = " " - Blank. The option to start the fan mission is there, so I click it and get a blank briefing screen then the error "Couldn't load Map: Maps/ " I have tried this with several fan missions including the training mission and I get the same problem... Everything was working fine before the update however so I am at a loss as to whats gone wrong really. I have tried uninstalling the current FM and resintalling it, deleting FM's and downloading them again and nothing is working. As I write this I am reinstalling 1.00, and I am going to try updating again but I am worried the same thing is going to happen - after hours of downloading... Anyone know if this is a problem with the mod, or have I done something to the config that could have upset everything... Cheers.
  10. All of the above are correct Fidcal. Everything was fine during 1.0, I played many fan missions for the months leading up to the 1.1 patch. 1.1 broke it for me, and yes the console does say that it cannot find startmap... I go to start mission, select the mission I want to install... TDM restarts, I select new mission again and this what is displayed.... I click start this mission and I am met with a blank breifing screen, I click "Buy Equipment" and I get the below error... Console says that startmap could not be found?

Before the update everything was working fine. I noticed it said "The Dark Mod 1.00, code revision 3718 Build date: Jan 7 2010". I deleted all the gamex86.dll files that existed in the Doom3 folder and below, then manually extracted gamex86.dll and ran the game, but after the error the file was modified and its sized got reduced from 4079KB to 4038KB (which incidentally is the size of the DLL of v1.00). I do not have any other DLLs or tdm_game01.pk4 in anywhere in my Doom3 directory. I manually extracted the file again and made it read-only, and this time the game started fine. But after installing Dufford, the same error appears again, and it again says "The Dark Mod 1.00, code revision 3718 Build date: Jan 7 2010" .Although the DLL in the main directory was still 4079KB, a new DLL appeared in the Dufford directory which was 4038KB. I replaced it and made it read-only too, and all worked again, but I can't figure out where this old version comes from. Any ideas?
  12. Hi all After talking about this a bit on the TTLG forum it seems here is a better place to post the issues I am experiencing. I can install and start missions fine. The first few saves and loads work fine too. However it always goes wrong afterwards. Loading the game crashes while inside the game, but the same savegame loads fine on a freshly started TDM. One of these three always happens: 1. Quickloading makes the game crash immediately. It doesn't even get to the 'Loading' screen. Loading any other savegame also crashes. Choosing 'Quit Mission' crashes too. If I finish the mission, the 'Mission Complete' page crashes. If I open TDM again, same savegames work fine. This seems like a problem with ending the current session, and not the savegames. 2. Quickloading/loading causes a window to pop up that says "Application has requested to terminate at runtime unusually". Again, the same savegame works fine on a fresh restart of TDM. 3. Quickloading/loading results in a malloc error (happens less frequent than the other two). Again, the same savegame works fine on a fresh restart of TDM. When 2 & 3 happen I also noticed that saving a game takes a quite a long time with a lot of hard disk activity. Here's more info: - PC specs: Intel Core Duo E8500, WinXP SP3 32bit, GeForce 9800 GTX+ with the latest drivers, 4GB of RAM, Doom3 1.3.1.1304 - TDM Updater says all the files are the latest. - I do not change any of the options in the middle of the game. - I do not run any programs in the background so there should be plenty of memory available. - Both the Windows partition and the partition that Doom3 resides in have a lot of free space. - The problem happens with all the FMs. - EDIT: Doom3 works fine. - EDIT: I don't have any other mods installed. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more information. If there is a logging mechanism tell me and I'll send you the log file. I can also send some savegames. Thanks.
  13. blue screen of death you get it when windows crashes, it will display a bunch of hex addresses related to the hardware on your system, saying there's something wrong with the hardware or drivers for hardware.
  14. I can't locate the new tdm 1.01 update. Updating isn't possible through the server or the updater. I'm not informed on how to use a torrent download so I'm only in possession of a 19 kb file. I could download I think from moddb but you guys haven't bothered to update the download listings so only tdm 1.0 and 1.0 corrected are there. The last update listing is for january. Why are you guys keeping up with that site? How to I make use of the torrent file? Or better still, since it's recommended, how do I make it possible for the updater to download the mod files? I can't obtain a screen of the dos prompt before it's closed. I shut down my firewall to see if that would work and it hasn't resulted in any difference.

  16. So, I nearly completed the Training Mission in the second night. But only nearly. It happened in the Builder´s Warehouse, where you get the water arrows: Doom3.exe has made an ERROR and I´m send back to desktop. I made a quicksave when the message came about the quiver. When I reloaded, the message is out of place, it´s written nearer the bottom so the last text lines are on the game screen and I get the error again, though I do nothing. So I reloaded, ran fast back to the mossed hallway and quicksaved again! So when I´m reloading now, there is no error, I´m just send back to desktop without a message, just after the "Preparing to start the mission/Please wait"-text appears. So I don´t even see the gamescreen of the mission! Maybe I´m just playing too long this level? It must be some hours... Another little problem: Sometimes I reload, the music is not playing. But when I am on a later quicksaved position and reload again, the music is there again, too. I thought, there must be a console cmd to force the music to restart. Could you who knows please tell me? And now some little suggestions about future changes: I´m missing Garrett´s 'gasp'-sounds when mantling or he´s getting tired of aiming (arrows). When jumping on a rope, it should bounce, like in Thief1/2. When climbing vines, the ladder sound shouldn´t be hearable, too! The LightGem is so big! I saw in the console the tdm_lg-cvar´s, but could not figure out the one which can decrease it! Please tell me!!(by the way, the new hitpoint-display is great!) Hmm, I can´t remember anything else, oh one thing, but I think it´s hard to do such things: when you blackjack a guard, he falls down too quickly! He should fell slower to the ground. I can imagine that it´s hard to animate this by hand, but are you even able to do that? (or are you using just anis from Doom3?) Sorry to ask those things, but I have no idea how you done what you done! But my overall thought about The Dark Mod is: WOOOOOOOOOW I´m really hardly impressed!! All this new features you guys added, the gameplay, the astonishing optic, etc. WOW I´m most impressed by how easy and effective mantling now is! You can even climb through a little hole in a wall!! The frobbing/manipulate-system is so awesome, too! Yesterday I spent so much time just reposition the furniture and stuff, so much fun and it makes the world more believable. I´m just not happy with the noise when putting up objects. Ok, you have to highlight it from the most above point, but it costs much time to adjust (when using Gamepad). Leaning while on ropes is something I always wished for and the more realistic "frob/reaching distances" adding more fun, too! Hell, the whole thing is so much fun!!! With this the Thief-Universe has a future, a very good one! Damn, I´m so impressed, but I didn´t even finished the training mission!! I have to add something about me: I´m German and I know that my English can be sometimes confusing; so if you´re not sure what I mean or in case I´m making unforgivable mistakes, please tell me!! I promise, I won´t be pissed off and I´m willing to improve my writing style!!
  17. Strange, normally the driver should be in the software-list called "NVidia Drivers" or similar. At least it shows up there in Windows 2000/XP. The first Screen in Driver Sweeper just shows you a list of options, the ATI Drivers happen to be on top of the list. After you uninstalled the driver and are in safe-mode, you can check the "NVidia Display" checkbox here, then click on "Analyse" and after it's done on "Clean".
  18. Your welcome, but better perhaps to fix what ever in DR is conflicting with this setting..? I have another rather obscure question regarding DR.. I have 2 systems: C2Q 3.2ghz, 8800GTS/HD5870, Vista/7, 20" CCFL LCD C2D 2.7ghz, 8400M_GS, Vista, 12" LED LCD On the first system I have noticed a strange almost imperceptible lag when moving rotating/moving in camera view, as if the view in DR is playing catchup by about 0.25-0.5 second. I have changed the Mouse, the mouse driver, the screen refresh etc and none made a difference. Yet on the second system (my laptop), there is no lag at all. Untill just now it never dawned on me that it could be input lag on 20" monitor, so what do you lot think, possible? if so what test could I run to test the input lag on both machine to test this theory.
  19. Hello guys. I have been searching forum for an answer to my problem, but haven't found nothing yet. When i ran SL my menu is looking like this: The black triangle is where i see some blue dots after opening the console. Menu buttons and cursor are not visible, but i can hear the sound of mouse mooving over buttons. After couple of minutes of blind trying i was able to start the mission once, and the game itself worked normaly. Esc allso opened up a clear working menu. Please help if you can. Thanks
  20. I'm looking forward to playing "The Builder's Influence", but I thought I'd better ask this first... At the very start of the mission there is an on-screen warning: "Warning: AAS32 is out of date!" What does it mean, and can it be safely ignored? As an experiment I installed and started the old missions, that I played on TDM 1.00, and I get this warning with several (builder's influence, crown of penitence, outpost, trapped) and a similar warning about AAS_rat for a few others (return to the city, living expenses, lucia, chalice, thieves). Is this normal? I remember seeing the AAS_rat warning before (with TDM 1.00) but only for one mission, as I recall. This is on a fresh installation of Ubuntu 9.10 and TDM 1.01.
  21. Well, I updated my drivers.. nothing changed.. driver version is in the screen-shot There's just one, until i take more later, if anyone needs them.. And when I say "super smooth" it's relative, like 25 fps, which for me is great, since the game looks nice. Halo 1 maxed out still lags for me. as an example. Oh and last night the screenshots weren't saving, but today i typed in "screenshot' and it all started working, and last nights screens also were in the folder, which was empty last night.. Weird.. However they are saving at around 900kb.. which is to large, obviously.. And they are saved in some weird quicktime format. But that's kind of irrelevant. These white areas are not affecting gameplay, beside the cosmetic view of it.. Oh yea fraps worked great, thanks.
  22. I'm worried that the reason you are having good performance is because your graphics card is not actually rendering very much and as such, is able to power through the rendering pass. Yeah if prntscrn is only giving you a grey screen when pasting into a program you can also try running in windowed mode with: set r_fullscreen 0 vid_restart Also download fraps and run that when playing the game, and use it's internal screenshot taking ability to grab screens. Also go to the nvidia control panel and check out your system information; what driver are you using? I'm running 196.86 with no issues with 2xGeForce GTX 260M in SLi mode.
  23. Nice, now TDM loads up fine, no errors at all, but instead of actually running TDM, it runs Doom 3, which doesn't really work, the taskbar is visible, and the screen blinks white on and off.. But Doom 3 works fine If I go ahead and run it through Doom3.exe Any help?
  24. hi all, i enjoyed your 1st demo, athough it got me some time to make it work:-) but i can§t make work SaintLucia... tried it under vista, game falls to menu after finishing loading progress bar... rebooted to xp, reinstalled, and finaly game loads successfuly... but at beginning, i can see only wall to right, sky above, some grass and everything else is black ok, installed newest driver, still the same problem any suggestions? hope there will be some ;safe texture manager or something in d3
  25. absolutely no. btw, intro clip is not played correctly too. i see only background with black moving shapes in front of it. btw xp sp2, 8800gts, newest drivers...
