Evening

Young Serpentine has fixed the inverted texture and created a new window texture -

1. The stone fireplace -" \models\darkmod\props\textures\fireplace_brick_local.tga "

2. Additional non-transparent window texture - " textures\darkmod\windowlamp_glass_lit & lamp_glass_lit " & " textures\darkmod\windowlamp_glass_lit & lamp_glass_unlit "

http://matthew.rucus...tdm/textetc.rar

These need to be added to the repository, but in the mean time...

1) how do I included them in my mission?

2) how do I fs_game my mission so it points to the custom content?

3) how do I access the new content via DR?

And lastly, how the hell do I edit the topic of a post after Ive posted it (in this case to correct spelling/grammer)

The stone fireplace -" \models\darkmod\props\ textures\fireplace_brick_local.tga "

I've already added that one.

To add new assets to your map, you just have to add the relevant folders and file to your .pk4. So if you make a darkmod/models/darkmod/props/textures folder in your mission and put fireplace_brick_local.tga in it, then that file will override the one in the main mod.

And lastly, how the hell do I edit the topic of a post after Ive posted it (in this case to correct spelling/grammer)

As long as you're using the full editor, it should be visible at the top.

I just indended those files to overwrite the current versions. The window ones just remove a 1px line of white on the left hand side which was visible in a few spots in BD's FM.

Feel free to use them, else I can make some slightly better versions of them if the line looks bad, I just did a 2 sec clone of the next line :P

2 & 3 Install your pk4 and it creates a game folder, eg doom3\business with all your files and subfolders in. So the new texture will be in there. tdmlauncher automatically points at your game folder if it is current. To point Dark Radiant at the same game folder you need to:

Dark Radiant > menu > edit > preferences > Game :

Mod (fs_game): business

Mod_base (fs_game base): darkmod

Make sure when you edit the post, you click the Use Full Editor button. It still might not work for members, not sure, but it's how to do it.

yeah doesn't work for me either, using the full editor - (that was the 1st thing I tried..)

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
