For all those wanting to do some map editing, here are some example shortcut & folder settings, current versions are Darkradiant 2.05 & Darkmod 2.04 -

Bikerdude's settings -

TDM and DR shortcuts:

  • E:\Darkmod\TheDarkMod.exe +set r_fullscreen 0 +set com_allowConsole 1 +set fs_currentfm alberic
  • C:\Program Files\DarkRadiant\DarkRadiant.exe" fs_game=darkmod/fms/alberic
Folder structure...
  • E:\Darkmod
  • E:\Darkmod\fms
DR Game prefs...
  • Game - Doom 3
  • Engine path - E:/
  • Mod (fs_game) fms/alberic
  • Mod Base - Darkmod
Alberic is an example mission name in this instance and for those of you still using Darkradiant 1.08 -

TDM and DR shortcuts:
  • E:\Doom\darkmod\TheDarkMod.exe +set r_fullscreen 0 +set com_allowConsole 1 +set fs_currentfm alberic
  • C:\Program Files\DarkRadiant\DarkRadiant.exe" fs_game=darkmod/fms/alberic
  • Folder structure...
  • E:\Doom\darkmod
  • E:\Doom\darkmod\fms

The DR game settings...

  • Game - Doom 3
  • Engine path - E:/Doom/
  • Mod (fs_game) darkmod/fms/alberic
  • Mod Base - Darkmod

Greyman's settings -

Folder structure...

  • C:\darkmod
  • C:\TDM\Missions\steele\ws2_homeagainORG\
The DR game settings...
  • Engine Path: (blank)
  • Mod: darkmod
  • Mod_base: TDM/Missions/steele/ws2_homeagainORG
I removed the "+set fs_game ..." in the DR shortcut.

 

Fidcal's settings -

Folder structure...

  • G:\darkmod
  • E:\testmaps\thiefs_den
DR game settings...
  • Engine Path: G:/
  • Mod: thiefs_den
  • Mod_base: E:/testmaps

So Mod_base is the folder you use to put all your fm stuff in? I never knew that. I thought it was game related. DOH!

Does the Op need updating for the new version of DR..? I ask because I had to change things in my shortcuts recently.

some1stoleit asked for these settings, so can the OP be updated with the new info please -

TDM and DR shortcuts:

      Well, this is just sad...I was not able to play any Thief or TDM whatsoever, why? Too busy the past 2 months, this month I'm not as busy BUT it's also very heaty in my place.
      I can't play Thief when it's not at least 15c or lower, the game demands to be played when it's cold for...Well, may sound stupid but I'll just say it, for that "immersion".
      It's kinda like playing Quake during Summer, which unless it's the Summer Jam mod, I don't think it's as fun.
