I predict when Deus Ex 3 comes out you're going to spontaneously combust.

Whenever the pieces of you coagulate back together long enough to type, though, I'm sure I can't wait to read what they really thought.

Happy hibernating in the meantime.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Oh yeah one more thing

"About the game itself, I can tell you right now: it looks really really great. First of all, from what I gathered, many issues have been taken into account and it looks the community has played a role in it since their worries are really taken seriously.

Moreover, the early echoes from real players (including fans) are extremely positive.

One last thing, if you're looking for freedom in DX3 you should not be disappointed, it will be a key element.

Concerning the news releases, you need not worry... all in due time and regularly."

Saw this link on TTLG. Here's something you'd might like to do, Unstoppable. A game club is playing Deus Ex this coming month:

Someone should get this magazine and put up some scans online.

I know this is in the off topic forums, but you do realize this is more of a Dark Mod/Thief oriented forum...right? :) I haven't seen anyone on here who quite shares your level of enthusiasm for Deus Ex.

I'm excited for DX 3, as well; I'm just trying not to be a tool about it

Milestones approaching:

Recital: 3-24-12

ToughMudder: 4-15-12

Release first FM: ?-?-20??

Ahh the memories of hyping this game up and failing a college class only to be dissapointed with the end result hehe. It was ok but the forums made me think the game sucked. In the end I liked it :).

Anyway Deus Ex 3 must succeed. If Deus Ex 3 bombs Thief 4 very well could be canceled due to lack of funding. Eidos is in a bit of financial trouble at the moment.

Also need the newest Tomb Raider to sell well :).

Well, I'm guessing they've already started development of Thief 4, it's just that they can't officially announce it until the new year. I would be very surprised if they cancelled it since they're touting is as one of their big revivals. The games are sharing an engine and team members, so it's going to be a more cost effective venture. If anything, they would start cutting projects that they don't already have a huge amount of development dollars thrown into.

While I did find Springheel's brushwork pretty questionable, I guess engine performance must also have come a long way during the recent five years, because I can safely say that the kind of performance issues that he's talking about in this video, just didn't happen to me when I fully opened up my basement with all its unoptimized brushwork. The framerate was capped at a nice 60 FPS no matter how I tried, and with visportals on top of this, and the complexities turned into "func_static":s, an uncapped framerate would just be obscene, at least for graphics cards only a few years old. I no longer have any worries about large areas and vistas - I'll just go nuts. It's gonna be fine.

I did it! I finally did it! After 48 hours of frustration and confusion, I managed to finally sort out how to attach equipment to NPC:s properly, and write down coherent instructions on how to do it, both in my manual, and in this forum.
I can finally rest. I can finally eat breakfast.

Spent most of the day learning and writing about AI navigation. It's stuff I already know, but the magic about writing something down as clearly formulated as possible, is that you then see things that much more clearly. You also find what's unclear to you, and then you figure out exactly how things work. I was hoping to get through it all within just a day, but it looks like this will take tomorrow as well, at this rate. There's also plenty of other nonsense I have to get through as well. Everything's a chore.
