I've been a Myst fan since the first game and when I heard that Cyan where making a new game and using Kickstarter I couldn't pledge quick enough

There is no official release date but it's supposed to be late 2015 and I've just received my T-shirt which is part of the pledge reward package and according to the Cyan forum all is going well, any Myst fans or pledgers here?

I just wish they released the Ubisoft-made games too somewhere.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

Been a backer since it started on KS. Can't wait, loved Myst and Riven.

Myst, Riven and Revelation are my favourites, Exile and URU was ok but unfortunately I can't play Myst V End of Ages as despite trying different settings and turning off cursor accelleration etc, the cursor movement is way too floaty and gives me motion sickness., hopefully, this won't be an issue on Obduction.

There is a project called 'Starry Expanse' that is an official fan project to remake the game Riven with full 3D movement and they are doing some great work,

That water editor is cool:

Thats an interesting vid, as some others said 'The water does look a little too viscous at times' but I'm sure Cyan can sort that out, it would be cool if the water was tidal and linked to the time of day so some areas could only be reached when the tide was out.

I just wish they released the Ubisoft-made games too somewhere.

Exile and Revelation may get released by GOG as many people have asked for them on the GOG community wishlist, GOG have Myst 1-2 and 5 and it would be good to have them all in a digital format rather than try and get my old DVD games to work.

Big Myst fan here, very psyched for Obduction. I read somewhere recently that they're including FMV sequences in Obduction, which is kinda cool, in an old school Myst/Riven kind of way. And Robyn Miller is apparently playing one of the 3 main characters in the game.

I've always wanted to recreate the worlds/ages of Myst & Riven for Thief, but alas, it's a lot of work. I'm guessing some of the puzzles and mechanisms would be almost impossible to recreate.

FYI, if you go onto Amazon, you can get Myst 3 & 4 used pretty cheap, less than $10 each. But yeah, it'd be nice to buy them in digital form if you could.

I think I tried Myst when it was ported to the Amiga several years later, but I think it ran too slow on the stock A1200 so I gave up.

Anyone remember these, by the way... The atmosphere was so awesome in both, also: Christopher Walken:

I remember Ripper but never played it, I recently bought 'Timelapse' but have not played it yet, if you want to get nostalgic and play it on a modern PC you can buy it from GOG for just a few £'s B)

So the game is out, and it's amazing. I played for about 2 hours last night and I have to say; it's like I'm back playing Myst again for the first time.

Reviews for it have been great also, averaging about 90% as of last night across reviews.

Go and get it, this company deserves your support if you're even remotely interested in these types of games!

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
