Well, actually he says that the way he does it is not the way it is meant to be played. In the scene where he fights the city guard who then ran away he just wanted to demonstrate that guards carry armor that can protect them from taking damage. He also stated that one should avoid being detected and that if this happens the best option is to run.
It was simple about showing the mod.

I got the impression that he isn't that big of a thief player. But he liked it and admired that fact that it's all non professional work by fans.
