  1. Sounds very nice! I would like to see that script.
  2. It would be nice to see/hear, the effects and ambience from D3-mod Phobos in TDM Missions. Videos in the spoiler
  3. Imagine that we can combine things of the d3-mod phobos and TDM,.. I love that ambience.
  4. Nice idea. Someone could change the texture of a existing tdm zombie model. But in my experience, if you got a idea and you want to see it in action, you have to create it yourself. To get you started, read the modeling and textures for models. videos in the spoiler
  5. As for that i know (reading several topics), imho is giving Bikerdude a forum ban, is a bit over-reacted. (an other punischment would be apreciated, like changeing system permissions) As we all know, creating/changing/fixing/copying things takes time. My opinion about changing/fixing/copying objects, is that I see it as a compliment to the original author. Because people dont copy ugly things. Sometimes the original author doesnt have time to read player coments, fix the mission or have other interests. So If another author repairs/change something, - as the original author, im humble and would apreciated his help/time. - And as a player, i dont Care! I dont know how the TDM publisching system works. I think,if somebody want to change something, he can download and change the mission and upload the mission to another location? Or is it possible to overwrite the existing mission? That shouldnt and must not be possible. And if the missions are licensed under cc license, i dont see the "NoDerivatives" nowhere. As a player i dont care that people help building nice missions, but i care when there are no people who build them.
  6. I just started the app to look at the GUI. If i want to backup backwards, i'm missing a tdm-version selectionobject. And like the updater, would be nice to add a grandtotal progressbar Got the same smart-screen unkown author/publischer warning, but thats always at first-run. (got that also for my installer. An author certificate is expensive) How did you do that for the tdm binary?
  7. A small update to my earlier post in this topic, about running 2.07 on Mac OS: I tested TDM 2.07 for windows on Wine on Mac os, on a vm. (because there isnt a 2.07 binary for mac os.) Its stops at the blue TDM-console showing the message that it needs OpenGL. (its the same result like older versions on a virtualized mac os on virtualbox.) i solved on vm linux by installing graphics acceleration for virtualbox, but there isnt any for mac os. I will test it on a real system the coming days. And test other methods. Also im experimenting with Valve's Proton (Valve's WINE build in the steam client for Linux & mac), trying to run TDM Windows binary on Mac os. Using a non-userfriendly method, i can start the tdm-updater and tdm installer (for windows), but TDM 2.07 64 bit windows binary doesnt start. vc++ installer crashes "could find any services" on it.
  8. Just want to say, that i did some small tests to run TDM 2.07 using: Windows 32 bit binary on Wine 4.0-rc3 (playonlinux 4.3.4) on Linux (opensuse leap 15.0 - 64 bit), on a VM (Virtualbox).Linux 64 bit binary on Linux (opensuse leap 15.0 - 64 bit) on a VM (Virtualbox)Both starts and shows the main menu (music, sound and interaction), without installing extra components.Haven't did any advanced tests, because it runs very slow on a VM (but thats obvious,..) Haven't tested on mac os, either.
  9. Just a small edit: 2a. At the end of the installation procedure, untick the checkbox that it starts the updater after the installation. So it doesnt start the updater. Download and place the mirrors file in the tdm folder and then start the updater. follow 4 and 5.
  10. could the linux and mac users try to run 2.07 for windows using wine?
  11. The installer solved that problem by setting the write permission to tdm folder for all users. (edit: full access) And for the spaces, the user can select an other folder if they want. how about using Windows environment variables in the path in darkradiant? The installer only starts the updater and not the update process. (and it uses at firstrun the no-self update parameter, to avoid problems.) The user can select the keep-mirrors option in the updater, if they want to. For more info see the code of the installation script of the installer
  12. 1) yes the installer can do that. the installer can run the updater with those parameters. but for this i need to recompile the installer. 2)which checkbox? the keepmirrors? if so, i can create another checkbox for that in the installer.
  13. as a player and modder, its a nice feature to see. and maybe mappers/modders going to use it in the future. its excists in d3 bfg code, so adopt it. as i posted and asked earlier: please keep the excisting (or new) d3 code/features in TDM, you never know when its going to used by mappers and modders. Things that could be used/reinmaginated/changed/disabled-as-an-option, like the mailsytem, multiplayer, etc. thanks for starting this topic for this object, otherwise it was gone.
  14. i think we need to see it in action before we decide to remove it. please dont remove any existing features, before you do a discussion about it.
  15. Do you mean version 26 november (and later)? if Yes, you can put that installer zip file next to the updater zipfile. The installer downloads the updater from the website. But its cleaner to put that installer, only one time inside the updater zipfile. The installer uses the updater next to it or it downloads the updater from the website. (-> so change that packaging process) If No, the old installer for windows (on moddb) can be used inside the updater zip, but then you need to recompile the installer when there is a new version of the updater.
  16. Would be nice if we can publisch TDM on that store.
  17. you can also see it as a compliment, when people re-using your stuff. Because people dont copy ugly things. "Good artists copy (and improve). great artists steal (and lazy)"
  18. I have seen this video some times now refferenced in this forum. Still a great video.
  19. about that error messages. Keep them coming. Thats is what we need to solve problems. how about installing package "libopenal1". Open terminal and enter the following line: sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install libopenal1;
  20. one of the benefits of opensource is that everyone can read the code. And there are some os projects who got and got ridden this problem. But then again, not everyone is a good coder who can detects this code. And who is compiling the code,..
  21. That is "Mont Saint Michel" in France. You can build portions if it, Bikerdude. And you can it view 360 pictures of some locations at the island in google streetview. See: mont saint michel on google maps.(also the 3d version looks nice)
  22. thanks. im looking at the future where are no tdm volunteers who want to compile our code (but the code/binaries are somewhere outthere) So "frequently" changed online paths and names shouldnt be hardcoded. (you can hardcode a mirrorlist, but existing connections will shrink overtime) For example, i dont know how long taaki's last. So a general location, like www.thedarkmod.com/downloads/tdm_update_win.zip, with a dynamic location selector on the back would last longer.
  23. uploaded a new version of tdminstaller windows for testing 20181125. this can be included in tdm main package

  24. I uploaded a new version of this installer, version 20181125 on my drive for testing. (and updated the sourcecode on my github repo) The most important feature of this version is that it detects if the tdm updater is sitting next to the installer and use that updater. So it can be included in TDM's main package for the tdm-updater windows (tdm_update_win.zip) in the future. This version detects if there is a tdm updater, next to the installer. If so, the installer copies that updater to the tdm gamefolder. If not, it downloads the current version of the updater to the tdm gamefolder If he cannot find the updater online, he extracts an old version of the updater to the tdm gamefolder. This version (and the future versions) of installer doesnt have to be recompiled anymore, when there is a new version of the updater. My question now is shall i create an ini-file for it, with settings like the current location of the online updater? And what must the updater do, when he cannot find the updater online.
  25. Do you mean The messenger from sabotage studio? If so, i love to play a ninja gaiden/shinobi style, once in a while. (gameplay in the spoiler)
