Surprisingly where i'm ordering it from the FX8350 is actually cheaper than the I5. In terms of power requirements my computer comes with a 750W power supply so I shouldn't have any problems.

It's illusional that one day we'll be able to create 3D models out of 2D photographies with a certain quality. The terms already says it, 3D -Y 2D == information lost. The only way such things could work would be to have a camera that stores depth informations in the picture combined with a tools that allows you to get the specific location of the camera. Several shots from different sides, and voila.
Everything else are just dirty hacks which will always have their nitpicks.

So after a very long discussion with many of my friends and doing a lot of research online I have decided to change 2 things. I changed the motherboard to a ASUS M5A97 R2.0 and upgraded the CPU to a 4.0 GHz AMD AM3+ FX-8350. It have read many mixed reviews on the CPU however what ultimately won me over was a buddy of mine who actually owns it and he was streaming some game footage for me that just blew me away with how smoothly it went. And this next part is purely my speculation but there is no denying the fact that most PC games are just console ports it's sad but it's true. Considering that both the PS4 and the XOne has an 8 core AMD chip inside of it, it's safe to say that they will probably be making games to run the best on an architecture and/or CPU very similar to my choice if not exactly the same. Plus after looking at some benchmarks comparing the 3550K I see the following: 3550K - 6,858 points FX8350 - 9102 points Source: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html So as you can see the FX8350 is much better and from first hand accounts from friends it seems to run very nicely.

Same here. Starting to get to the end of a project... when I get hit with another that needs to be done on an extra-tight deadline.

Once I was playing a mission where you break into a hotel (It was a recent one actually but I can't remember the name) and I broke into this really expensive looking room which I had been saving up for last because it looked the most lucrative. When I got inside everything was layered out really nice, definitely was the presidential suite so to speak but I noticed that one of the guests was standing up in the living room whilst his wife was laying on the bed, as I was sneaking up to bop him on the back of the head with my blackjack he just blurted out to himself "Bloody hell i'll piss where I wanna!" which caused me to burst out laughing. Sometimes this game has unexpected funny moments, I love it!

Ive been watching this project for a while.. The graphic is of course lower than Skyrim, but the game is looking fine..

I disagree about the graphics being bad, I have seen them first hand running 60 fps on ultra settings and holy hell are they amazing! Especially for an MMO.
I guess MMO's aren't for everyone but I do enjoy playing them casually, big fun worlds to explore with many people sounds fun to me

Ha wow that looks really cool Sotha! Other than the usual break in, steal and leave gameplay this would be a fun addition to a map where say you have to infiltrate a castle and maybe you could poison or knockout a nobleman expected to visit the estate for a party they are holding, steal their clothes and walk right in. Might not be exactly in the style of Thief but hey as long as there is great loot at the end of it all i'm sure the character would go through with anything

How does your computer handle games? I have also contemplated an AMD FX-8320 instead of the i5 but I'm still quite unsure. I just want to run games for the next couple of years on high settings and to run them smoothly

CPU: 3.3 GHz Intel i5-3550 Ivy-Bridge GPU: 2GB GeForce GTX760 RAM: 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kingston RAM HDD1: 120gb SSD HDD2: 1 TB S-ATAIII Mainboard: ASUS P8H77-M So any recommendations? Or should I go ahead with this build? After doing a lot of research myself I have come to the conclusion that this is the best value for my budget and this setup should run most modern games on a high setting.

Sounds good then! I will have to have a look in the beta forums and see if I can get a hold of it to test out my map so far I'm actually still using 1.08, I guess I could upgrade to 2.0 to test my map with but everything I use is in the TDM folders so I guess it should be fine

How do we know if our map will be 2.0 ready? I'm afraid that I will finally complete my map but then it wont run on 2.0

Isn't there an entity (trigger I believe) which allows you to change spawnargs of other entities? I remember seeing something like that (cant remember the exact name) and you could use that to trigger once the change of scenery happens to change the song which I guess would change it. I haven't tried that before but thats my educated guess

Thanks for the answer! What you said at the start of your post clicked in my head and then I only set one side of the brush to the glass and everything looked way better. I guess because I applied the glass to all sides it was looking bad. oops! But now I have a problem with clouds and controlling their speed. With the texture textures/darkmod/nature/skybox/starry1/clouds how do you control its speed? I tried applying shaderparm4-7 at speed 0.5 but it doesn't really seem to do much

That's a step in the right direction but the glass still isn't clear. It looks all weird still, I just need basically clear glass with pretty much nothing on it. Same glass as you see in your window at home for example

Is it possible to have glass which is actually clear but you are still able to tell that glass is there? I have gone through most of the glass textures but for what I need it doesn't suit. Even just the clear glass looks bad (for what i'm using it for) I just need something really clear. Does that texture exist? or is there a method to it?
