  1. Non-white beard? Why does Geralt of Rivia now look like Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell with long white hair... as with all games that go long in the tooth... they'll probably ruin this game with too much console gamey-ness. Let's hope they don't.
  2. Congratulations! Never played this mission but what you have brought to TDM is truly remarkable. ...and many more!
  3. I think its (media] (/media] but use brackets instead of parens

    Thief 4 is trash.

There were a couple times during my playthrough that the gem was full bright and I was in shadow and a couple times when I was in light that it was dark. Maybe they just made and area map and when you went in to that area it triggered the gem state... that would be about equal effort to what they did on the audio.

I agree with the shadows portion of this discussion. Dishonored, for me, was the same. Nothing was dark enough that you could actually hide, most everything was well lit and it really ruined a lot of the immersion and experience. However, I had the opposite experience and maybe its because I was playing on Hard difficulty. You guys playing on Hard? ANY time a guard got very near to me, it was over. I thought there was not only the "hide in the shadows" but also a proximity thing going on because of it. If I was 2-3 feet from a guard, they would stop, bark, "...huh?..." and then see me. Without fail. I actually liked this part of the game because it added a lot of the immersion that the bad shadows failed to.
  6. The underwater murk is an overlay. Tried this? http://forums.thedar...underwater-gui/ Wiki
  7. I'm available as well if you need another. Computer is up to par and it would be a pleasure.
  8. Take a look at Obsttorte's Lets map videos, Goldwell. See if those help with patch manipulation. - @~39:00 Stair railing - @~1:09:20 rope cross binders
  9. I'm only 8 min in but I kind of have to disagree with this guy. I agree with him on the premise of having a usable, shippable interface but I don't agree with him when he continues to say, "Stop forking". In his mind and from a business perspective, sure, its wasted energy to create new vs. improving existing, however in my mind, you can liken Linux to human DNA. Its constantly evovling, changing, adapting, and re-inventing itself and to put dampers on that is insane. What Linux will become 5yrs, 10yrs, 15yrs down the road none of know but what we do know is the more forking the more imagination and the more ideas that are put forth whether they succeed or not and that is never a bad thing. We can always look back through the code and pull a lot of that forward and it will all evolve how its suppose to. If forking was to halt, what Linux is and has always been which is an idea cauldron would cease to be.
  10. @Springheel, take a look from the rooftops, when you're up there, at the rain cascading down the roofs... its an awesome shader.
  11. Or, just use a CRT. They render gradients with no banding. I think this is an LCD issue. (they all do it unless you're using a 10bit panel though I've not seen one of those to know if they do it or not too).
  12. Congrats, Moonbo! Well deserved and a truly unique and excellent mission.
  13. Hehe. My first thought was, "OMG! Another person who has played Syberia!" (Since I've never met another person that has played Syberia). Then I realized that its not Syberia, its Cyberia and that I still haven't met someone else who's played this game.
  14. PROTECT THE QUEEN AT ALL COSTS!!!! hahaha..
  15. What I love (and I'm being sarcastic) is that many times, even though there are many ways to contact someone nowadays, they don't respond. Not even with a, "busy, I'll get back to you". Yes that can obviously be assumed if they don't respond but its just non-communication in the communication era... ironic. For what its worth, I don't own a cell/smartphone.
  16. Ah, its not fear of anything IMO. Its just the newness of technology to the human race. I think it will run its course and become integrated in to life. As with everything else, nature will find a balance.
  17. Wouldn't it be a coup if instead of getting elected on corporations money and then screwing over the people, one could get elected on the pEOPLe's money and then screw over the people. Not saying that is what this is intentioned towards. Its just if this does take off, eventually it will be corrupted as well and that is what will happen even though the original intentions didn't dictate that.
  18. Fascinating video! I've never seen one of these before. What bizarre sounds this thing makes. I guess we've all heard them before unknowingly but what a peculiar instrument. I was looking at how one of these and was wondering the tonality you could achieve using brass vs. nickel/silver or bronze. The particular length of each rod would be one of the most critical things. The rest of the device is seemingly just a resonance chamber with a port. I was thinking what two off-the-shelf cymbals would sound like brazed around the perimeter and of course with the bottom hole patched, brazed, and polished smooth though that would no doubt affect the sound to some extent. I'm sure you could definitely get some very weird and eerie sounds out of it though which might be very interesting for TDM audio. The rod length would be one of the keys as they need to be cut in resonant lengths I would think. Would be a wild project for sure. These sell on the guys site for ~$1100-1800. Seems like a steal for the amount of time he has invested in each one. of them.
  19. She's perfect the way she is. If she had bigger boobs, she wouldn't be a thief.
  20. @Obsttorte --I've got it downloaded some months ago but haven't fired it up yet. I was hoping the feel of the game would be more like MW and less like UT though. @Goldwell --I posted a link to that a couple/few months ago in some thread here. I followed it for a while till it ended. It looked absolutely fantastic and then Intel or some such bought it and buried it. It was around the time that Intel was working on their Larrabee gfx solution so naturally one would think, oh, they're going to push this game out as a launch title with their new gfx card but... that got buried too. Nice video culmination of all of stuff the offset team posted.
