  1. Alright, thanks so much! I'll try that.
  2. Processor: Intel i3 Core-2100 CPU 3.10 Ghz 4096 MB RAM Videocard: Nvidia GeForce 450 GTS Display 1920x1080 at 60 HZ Operating system: Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition And a 500 GB Hard Drive. I'll wait until you release the new version then. Thank you for your reply.
  3. I just tested it with 2.03. I was unable to reproduce that bug at the water refinary. But the game freezed now somewhere in the caves. I'm also having some FPS drainage with the watery segments and in the ones with the abundance of various coloured crystals. It's odd because usually this game runs perfectly on most missions. Did you notice some geometry acting weird at certain parts of the mission by the way? Some sort of clipping apparently.
  4. Thank you. I will try it! (Wow that was a fast update since I posted).
  5. I receive a freeze upon loading my quicksave in the very first mission upon opening and entering the very first building (with the water canal leading to the caves). Is there any way to find what's causing this? I've noticed that it freezes when I sneak. Yet when simply walking or running there is no such instance (which is odd).
  6. Cragscleft prison one of them. The prison in Thief 3 and it's Orphanage which both hint at how those people weren't really treated too well. Another example is Thief 2's transformation of prostitutes and poor people into servants by Karras as they "weren't good for anything either way" or something like that.
  7. Thanks. Anxiously awaiting it.
  8. I'm asking out of curiousity if I may: the 2.03 patch will manage to arrive before Spring?
  9. By the way this reminds of The Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall. In that game they had a court system which was very different from Oblivion or Skyrim. It was simple, but the idea of such a mechanic in an RPG can be developed into a full blown mini-game like in The Guild 2 german games.
  10. Well to be honest an experience like Thief needs a lot of money and people to work in multiplayer.
  11. Looks great to me!
  12. Another movie on the same topic but different - in cooperation between Germany and USSR, although the latter had little to do in the end with the film's creation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GiefHPD7HY (has english subititles in the caption) Also, the book is good from what I've hear and there's even a Russian video game which I tried, I thought was a nice RPG as well. Even if mostly ignored in 2005. The movie looks more like Dune but I thought it was still cool in case anyone wants inspiration for Arabic landscapes (I'm not sure the book actually had these steepes as it's setting but whatever ). However, arguably the movie you sent is more in line with the original material of the book - i.e. a harsh, unforgiving and barbaric system under a Medieval Theocratic dictatorship as a setting.
  13. The sounds in-game are pretty good as it stands. Maybe someone might want to change them to be louder at certain segments but they are good as-is to me. Even in comparisson to Thief.
  14. I'm not really interested at this point. Multiplayer in general is not a thing that mixes in my mind perfectly with The Dark Mod especially considering some of the less open missions it has. It probably wouldn't work without a lot of optmization, tweaking and many features to make it as visually and practically accesible as Portal 2's coop. I refuse to play any other unfinished entity because it simply wouldn't be enjoyable. I would rather play a 100 times the singleplayer. Since the team has more pressing matters to attend to, I personally don't see reason to draw our attention to this. Only a AAA company or a group of REALLY determined people can pull it off (like the Project Vaulderie for Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines which by the way was forced to close down) and even then not easy.
  15. Replayed this map a couple of days ago (for some reason). Great choice of effects, the rain, the music and almost everything! Only thing I wish there would be, is some effects of rain falling on the roof of the church, so that you can get a feeling that it's still raining outside, even if you're in a warmer place.
  16. I think we should also be mindful of the background of many immigrants. Many don't get proper education from the country where they came from, especially if they are refugees from a place like Syria. You know, these people are easily manipulated. They are naive, they are the target audience of terrorists to convert into soldiers. I think that a big thing of the coming years is to make sure that at least the future generation gets a better future. Through education the likelihood someone can use these people again is significantly lower. So much talk of globalization. But all those concepts seem to be very vulnerable, and things didn't seem to change much from the 20'th century even if the Cold War ended.
  17. I suppose the matter didn't move on since? These were nice models in all honesty.
  18. I used Kaspersky in the past but it was always known for being intensive on the PC. Especially the old versions. Now it's better. But still, lately, not much trust in Russian made programes of the kind. At the moment using Norton 360, seems better than the trial version and a worthy replacement. I believe that payware Anti-virus programmes tend to be better. After a few infections I tried Microsoft Security and Avast and they didn't see what Kaspersky saw, or what Norton detected. But, make no mistake - never install 2 anti virus programmes. They say that they compete with each other so they may detect each other as harmful programmes.
  19. An interview from Eric Brosius, the sound designer of the Thief games and System Shock: Here he tells us how he created the amazing music and sound of Thief what was the purpose behind the sound cues and how it all came together. The interview is Warren Spector. You may know him as the founder and studio director of Ion Storm.
  20. Don't feel guilty for delays. Your health and well being matters much more. This FM can be released whenever you feel it is finished and only then.
  21. Just completed your mission. If there's anything that I didn't like was the somewhat lacking sense of size. There are big halls, but some places make it feel a little minimalistic for the epic scope of the entire story and temple.
  22. Probably understandable considering the extent of the immigration to Europe lately.
