New CPU is 2-core Pentium 3.2GHz cheapo... but it clocked to 4.3GHz without complaining. My system booted with no issues on the first try after moving my drives and gpu to new case, mobo, cpu, ram, and psu. Lots of games to test, but Unigine Valley tested rather nicely in ultra quality, as did lotro.

Thought you got an i7 4770? I assume I've missed an update thread where something went wrong with it?

Yeah, it turned out to be fried. The original owner tried to run it after getting it back from the ebay buyer (after carrier had dropped the box).
So, to tide me over for a while, I got a cheap CPU. But it is working quite nicely so I'm not in a giant rush to replace the i7. Though I might do so after taxes are done...maybe
