  1. Guy is just asking how to deactivate the login. No need to sell him Linux, and your political views.
  2. I'm just finishing this (I think). Fantastic mission, loving every minute of it. I have some issues finding stuff though:
  3. That's the big issue with any kind of rather poplar game these days. Totally dead industry in terms of creativity.
  4. A Thief without Garrett is no Thief for me. And, how is Dishonored screwed up? I think it's very coherent.
  5. Frankly, considering that nobody in his sane mind would touch the franchise with a ten foot pole ever again, and considering the state of nowadays target audience of the more popular games, I think this is a very hpothetical scenario. At least for me, it doesn't make much sense to invest time in imagining what it could look like. It's unrealistic, and therefor I simply won't waste time on it. I think it makes much more sense to imagine scenarios for Dark Mod missions. If anything, in future times, I hope for a Dishonored 3. Sure, it's not Thief, but, it's what I'd imagine a goo more Thief-y game should be like. I played through the whole series for a second time recently, and, man, it's so good that I really wonder how the majority of people can't enjoy such absolute gems. Which, again, speaks volumes about what nowadays' gamers are like. Just like anything with mass appeal, video games completely went down the shitter.
  6. The mapper can define that behavior per map: https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Doors#Suspicious_Doors So, if the A.I. doesn't react on open doors, it's because the mapper simply didn't implement it. Sometimes it makes gameplay pretty messy and complicated if the A.I. reacts on every imaginable thing...
  7. Which resolution are you running? That's not a good framerate for that hardware. I get above 100 on full HD with almost everything on max, except anti-aliasing (16x is a complete performance killer, I left it at 8x), with a i5-11600K and a RTX 3060 Ti.
  8. I'd rather have System Shock 3, to be honest. Thief 1-3 didn't really age badly in terms of gameplay. And, Thief 3 still looks decent these days as well. At least I don't have any issues playing those through these days. Graphics are overrated anyway. If anything, the graphics of Thief 1 and 2 have a certain charme, which probably wouldn't be there anymore if they remade them.
  9. Interesting, although I'm not sure what to make of that. One of my favorite games (The Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena) was published by Atari, and, they don't even seem to care to keep the activation servers running much. Or remove/change the copy protection, which doesn't work at all on Windows 11. I really hope that Nightdive delivers at the end of May... I'm not one of the shit storm crowd (it's absolutely horrible on the Steam forums...), but, 7 years of development is a long time, and delaying the release obviously has become a bit of a habit, to say the least.
  10. Grats to the release. I know what I'll be doing this evening.
  11. Which model are you using? If you want to say, of course.
  12. Note that, when you take a picture, the brightness of IPS or TN panels are always exaggerated. Their background lighting isn't as bright as in the picture. And, an IPS screen is perfectly alright for playing dark games like TDM, as long as you opt for an IPS with a good contrast ratio, like my AOC 24G2U. It has a contrast ratio of about 1.300:0, which is exceptional for an IPS. If you want a panel tech which is best suited for dark games, there is VA. BUT, they have issues with the black/white reaction time, especially when you have dark screen content. It leads to the typical VA smearing of brighter screen content in dark screen content. Supposedly, the Samsung G7 monitors have the best reaction times of the VA panels, but they are curved displays, which isn't my cup of tea. Difficult topic, choosing a monitor for TDM. As I mentioned, I can recommend the AOC 24G2U. IMO, it's the best compromise. You get a colour accurate IPS panel, and an exceptional contrast ratio, which is very unlike the usual IPS panels. It's also quite cheap. I got mine for 169 €. What I wouldn't do is get a CRT... most of them aren't widescreen, they have old, even mostly analog connectors, which worsen the picture. And, they're also not as colour accurate as IPS screens. Not to mention that you have such a big device sitting on your table, and not to mention the convex curved display either. I really wouldn't bother with such obsolete tech.
  13. No. I thought you talk about System Shock Remake first, and then I saw that revelator talked about Starfield.
  14. Did you play the beta? The demo seemed pretty flawless to me. Oh, wait, you're talking about Starfield or System Shock?
  15. Which makes me think that there are no screens in this universe. Anyway, of course up to the imagination of the mapper. It just seems a bit off to me, that's all. All the other technology is not THAT advanced.
  16. The stories and story telling of Moonbo's missions are excellent (they're the best really in that regard IMO), and you can tell that he's a good writer.
  17. Nice, albeit a bit too modern for my taste in this setting. I mean, if you spin the idea on, then, why are there no screens in the game, if keypads already have them? Seems a bit out of context IMO. Just my opinion.
  18. It'll be released on 30th of May: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/482400/view/3675538825746573847?l=german You really need a lot of patience these days... Starfield also has been delayed for the second time now, to September this year.
