TDM is now the number 11 most popular mod at Moddb. Nearly 2000 visits and climbing...

My google alerts have been ringing with news and articles about tdm
-
That's cool! We're the toast of the town tonight.
-
keep up the good work folks

I believe a prediction may be coming true soon. I wish I were a gambling man...

TDM has finally been ported to the C64. You heard it first, people!
-
Yeah, my guess was a "birthday release"... We'll see if I collect on my wager...
-
How much did you bet?
-
A certain famous screen-shot artist (site) might be doing a series on TDM. Keep those fingers crossed!

Can you "PCF" stencil shadows? Or perform some sort of inexpensive reverse ramp from the silhouette edge?
Or does that method only allow for a single attenuation value?
-
didn't know there was such a thing as a "screenshot artist". That reminds me on https://xkcd.com/915/
-
How interesting! it's like a photographer of virtual environments...
-
Since the Black Mesa site is hammered. Shacknews is the best place: http://www.shacknews.com/file/32999/black-mesa-source-10-windows-free-game

for now...
-
Shacknews is being hammered, so got another link - http://www.chip.de/downloads/Black-Mesa_57528457.html

http://www.vg247.com/2012/09/11/arma-3-devs-arrested-for-spying-on-greek-island-lemnos/ Dram, are you OK?!? (reported ages older than Dram's)

"Don't photograph military installations, ever" is a very sensible rule of travel.
-
We don't have both sides of the story here. Its a statement of fact that Greek officials are a cesspit of corruption, bribery and liars. So its highly probable the devs are being used as scapegoats.
-
Good news, got a PM from Dram, so he wasn't one of the two devs etc.
-
Over 1200 Moddb visits for "Vengeance". Nice work Sir Taffsalot.

Thanks for the promotion Nbohr!

Neat!

And another....

Well.. I'm on Reddit finally... Stop over at r/gaming and upvote my post if you can

I don't know reddit at all. I tried to find your post from main page but no luck.
-
upvoted although you probably should have just submitted a link to the main page rather than a random screenshot
-
Yeah, I'll post a more serious post in r/games...
I was trying to stick with their whole caption>image>discussion routine
...though I probably should've posted the image to imagur for consistency (reddit and imagur are tied at the hip...).
-
I wonder if v1.08 would run "standalone" if end-users copied pk4 data from the Doom 3 demo. Nobody could officially condone it but players might get to try TDM without downloading anything illegal...
- Show previous comments 9 more
-
Using the demo00.pk4 won't work - it might bring a missing few resources, but missions using skeletons or undead will still crash. Nice idea, tho.
-
Pretty cool find rebb!
@Tels, yeah it was a long shot but I thought there were Zombies in the demo (but probably not the ones TDM uses which probably are from the Hell stages).
-
Strangely enough his wordpress site doesn't seem to link to this, but it also comes up in the google search : http://silk.cghub.com/

mh has taken a stab at a full GLSL backend for Doom 3 too... http://www.quaketastic.com/upload/files/misc/MH-Doom3-GLSLBackendAndShaders.zip
- Show previous comments 4 more
-
I see. Here's the blip on "mh" I got from google that put it in perspective for me: http://mhquake.blogspot.com/2011/11/doom-3-shaders.html
-
This is nothing more than like 4 other people have released. IE, backend with interaction shader and not a full set of shaders. Honestly just talk to Sikkpin. He's really nice.
-
Yes, though with this work mh went the extra mile to really prove that the shaders are GPL because they are rewrites of the fixed function backend included with the GPL sources. Still doesn't complete the set though

Endarchy mod for Doom 3 has some pretty nice texture work...

What about Hexen Edge of Chaos, ? Those are the ones I've been meaning to try fro a while now...
-
* Hexen, Grimm and Torn *
-
Hexen is outstanding for fans of the originals. Grimm has promise but it's a little barren of diversity as of yet.

Interesting topic: http://www.doom3world.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=25568

I can't login to Steam forums. Please visit the Thief release threads and mention TDM Thanks!
-
Ha! UE4 will be mostly "realtime" like Id Tech 4. They are touting developer advantages that Doom 3 modders already have... http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/05/unreal-engine-4-will-bring-us-beautiful-games-faster-than-ever

The Phrase Book is now in the Moddb highlight banner! TDM awareness keeps increasing...

Images are up at Moddb

I like the two narrow alley ones: http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/4/4000/remembrance_2012-04-24_13.06.04.jpg

Very nice nbohr, thanks guys.
-
Oh let me know if you need any of the original screenshots in larger resolution, I still have them I think. Anyway, what's up with the lightgem? Only boys play with that thing on...
