My boss told me off today. he said I have to do more work and spend less time talking to the new little redhead girl. The thing is, whenever I make her laugh or smile, I feel like my heart explodes and enough fireworks detonate to blow the houses of parliment to the moon.

Sounds like you gotta ask her out so that you don't spend work hours, but you personal hours on her.
Not for personal lust, of course.
For the economy and for the efficiency!

If your talking to her when you should be doing work then I can see you're boss's point, but if its not affecting your work then your boss is being an arse-hole. But if he was friendly enough about it, just limit the time to chat with her to tea-breaks and lunchtime.
