It appears that if you dmap and then shut down Dark Mod and re open it and map that performance improves significantly? Or am I imagining this?

Well I'm not imagining this cause this just happened but this is really cool. I thought my map had performance problems but now it seems not

Yes, it seems that Doom 3 has problems with memory management (Garbage Collection?) after a dmap...

dmap doesn't release all the memory it grabs. It's considered a development tool, and didn't get the same level of attention given to the game itself.
