  1. I'm not sure what sort of reaction I will get to this but I would love to put out a request for some new food models to be added into the core game or if not as a custom asset that could be added in by myself or other mappers who need it. Here is a list of some new food items that I think would compliment the already existing ones in game BaguetteMeat/salami rollWatermelonBananasCucumberDeer leg (similar to Thief 2)Mutton and other meats on bones, sort of like a chicken leg but not as defined as a modern day deep fried chicken leg of courseCheese (more than the existing couple)LeeksPiesThat's all that I can come up with, if anyone else has any other ideas post them here and i'll add them to the list. If any modelers have the time/desire to fulfill part or even the whole list that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Dont know if this has been asked before, but if there any way to target a model, in this case a window to and target it from a light. So when I extinguish the light the skin on the window model changed from unlit to moonlit or self-lit etc.
  3. I'd like to scale up and make some other changes to TDM's crystal1-4.ase models because the rotation hack makes them pop out of existence when seen at the border of the screen, which looks very bad - Yet my Blender .ase importer simply does nothing for these crystals, while most other .ase's are fine. I'm using the JediAcademy importer for Blender 2.76b, with my Blender being that version. Then I tried open3mod which can import the crystals but gets unhandled exceptions on exporting to any other format. Also tried Wings3D but it doesn't even seem to support .ase? There's no .ase import option by default, and wings3d forums seem to imply there's no support (i.e. Post #3). Could someone please share a working alternative .ase importer setup for me to try out, or send a zip with these 4 crystals in .obj, .blend, .lwo or another common format? It'd be appreciated
  4. I need a simple sphere: - radius 8 - textured with "models/darkmod/metal/flat/gold01_ns" - a single joint named "Light" at the origin - no shadow mesh - a low polygon count between 70-100 is fine This is for an experiment, so I might request minor changes until I know what I'm doing. Thankx.

  5. Hi guys, I have wondered, how the AAS decides, if paths are available for AI. Does it take the collision model into account or does it just calculate the width and height of passages and depending on that decides if the average AI should fit / not fit through that passage? Or to put it differently: does the collision model of an AI influence the path finding algorithm, i.e. will the AAS notice that a bigger non standard collision model is too broad for a regular passage or the other way around, that a smaller collision model would enable the AI to walk thrugh a smaller gap?

  8. Fantastic feeling when you finally fix something with a model that's been broken for months.

  9. Do you know if it's possible to have 2 normal maps per surface (material) ? For example, I want to have a large rock with one normal map defining general shape details (non-tiling, fits the model) and second normal map defining smaller details, tiling over the surface. I recall there was something like adding normal maps or adding normal and heightmap in Doom 3, but I am not sure how (if possible at all) to make one texture just fit the model as if it was just a regular func_static with regular material, and have "detail" normal map being added to the original one, but having it tiling, as if it was like a wall textures. Thanks.
  10. Kinda missing being around here even having only done my one chair model. Still working on my HL2:EP1 Citadel project in Unreal but I'm starting to get that itch to wanna do something here again.

      Well that's a start! I'd be happy to lend a hand somewhere so I'll probably just pop the question there. Looking to try and use Substance Painter on something other than a PBR based model. Though D3's mesh lighting helps a lot.

      I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

      You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

       

      Import into T3ED

       

      Edit

       

      Release TDS mission...

       

      (or just stick with TDM)

      I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

  13. I was wondering if anyone has the time and desire to create a rather simple custom model for me. I've seen it plenty of times playing Thief 2 FMs and it looks to be a foot rest/small seat for noble areas. If possible it would be great to have multiple skins for different colors to go with it as well and I can't speak on behalf of the TDM team but I think it would make a great addition to the core mod as well. Here's a picture of the item below. Thanks!
