Excellent idea!

(and so on)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

I'd love to do an FM that has a Jack The Ripper theme. Only problem is the Dark MOD AI would look out of place. The London Bobbies wouldn't be wearing armour and they would have guns instead of swords. I drew a map for this FM over Xmas. I ended up using this for the city section in VFAT 2.

When I clicked 'Preview this topic', the first unread post was Serious Toni saying 'we need bigger inboxes', and the last was Sir Taffsalot saying he wants to do a Jack the Ripper-themed FM.

Couldn't wait to see how the thread got from ST1 to ST2. It didn't disappoint. :P

Thats nothing. The 'How can I make a realistic looking pond' thread went from talking about ponds to men wearing wigs which resusulted in Sotha's avatar.

What excuse do we have not to sculpt, and sculpt, and sculpt, until the job is done?

During long conversations with friends at dinner parties in my youth, we'd sometimes stop and go, "Hang on - two hours ago we were talking about that, and now we're talking about something completely different; how did we get here from there?" It was quite a lot of fun trying to remember the connections, and there nearly always were connections - there was very rarely a change of subject for absolutely no reason. Eee, we knew how to enjoy ourselves in those days.

Also - it's probably just me but I think that somehow Sotha's avatar epitomises the essence of TDM.

An insane, totalitarian yet quite polite AI. With a Georgian wig and moustache.

It's

just

perfect.

What was this thread about again?

Wrong! That is a depiction of Springheel K.O.ing the Trickster by kung-fu techniqie!

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
