refl3ks 189
Only happens when I get higher up in the map, I tilt my screen and the skybox gets brighter and darker depending on the angle. This issue just became prominent recently, I have no idea what's causing this. Any help would be appreciated.
STiFU 753
Did you also try changing some graphics settings and see if the effect persists? Critical settings are softshadows, stencil shadows or shadow maps, r_useFBO.

Critical settings are softshadows, stencil shadows or shadow maps, r_useFBO. I believe I changed the Shadows Implementation to Stencil, I'll check after work and update the post if that fixes it. I've used the soft shadows option since they day I started working on my mission (few weeks back) and never noticed this issue. Edited April 6, 2020 by refl3ks
refl3ks 189
Changing settings does not fix it. Would it by chance be a VisPortal?
STiFU 753
Maybe fly around the map using noclip with various r_show* cvars enabled, to see if you can identify the issue? I am at a loss. I hope one of the veteran mappers / engine coers pops in soon.
nbohr1more 2174
This looks a little like what happens when you noclip into the void and the engine disables lights for performance. Are you sure the player isn't clipping into the void somehow? No luck. 2 hours ago, nbohr1more said: This looks a little like what happens when you noclip into the void and the engine disables lights for performance. Are you sure the player isn't clipping into the void somehow? Yes, that's exactly what it looks like. It only happens if I move the camera up and down. I'm well within the play area. I'll try swapping out the skybox and see if that helps.
Amadeus 360
does this happen when you cross through a visportal? I had a weird glitch similar to this when I was making my FM. It caused a lot of weird black squares and I was apparently in the void when crossing through that visportal because all the visportals on the map opened up/were yellow. I fixed it by removing the visportal and making a new one elsewhere Edited April 8, 2020 by Amadeus 1 Quote FMs: A Good Neighbor

I'll update the post when I get the chance to do this. Edited April 7, 2020 by refl3ks
refl3ks 189
Ok apparently it just appears to be this skybox: tdm_moon_foggy.pfb That's somewhat unfortunate, that skybox was a good fit. Oh well, on to the second best! I'll eventually have to settle on making my own.
