  2. I do not think so, although it is true that surveillance can help in certain cases, it is not admissible in such a massive way, which is a serious interference in the right to privacy. For example, the introduction of Google Glasses with facial recognition for the security forces was rejected outright for this reason. Would you like any police officer you meet on the street to know that you have a pending parking ticket? Although this is a slight example, this invariably also leads to abuse by the state, for example to recognize you from a demonstration against the current government. We have security cameras in every corner of the city and there is no problem of applying facial recognition in concrete cases because of a crime later, but not in real time, as in this video, this would be worse than 1984, besides, the very existence of the video shows that this is not even safe against the vision of anyone, with which in addition to the serious privacy failure, it also becomes a security problem for the people who appear with names in this video. Even on the mobile it is possible to deactivate the GPS without any problem.

  3. Surveillance tech like this has the potential to help many people and also the potential to give the power to bad governments to suppress dissidente voices, like all tech has bad and good things, everything can be used to harm, we just need to mesure if the bad outweigh the good and personally, I don't know if it does in this case. For example, Cellphones are used has surveillance tools, I know of two cases were people were arrested after a serious crime, because of evidence found on and because of their cellphones, so how many here are in favor of the ban of cellphones?

  4. Regardless of who is ultimately responsible, if it doesn't work correctly for a significant number of players, I suggest it isn't the default (but can still be available as an option). If the game doesn't work out of the box people will ultimately blame the mod developers for releasing a buggy game, and may not even look at the forums to learn whether it is actually a case of AMD drivers not implementing an extension correctly (they'll probably just rage quit and delete the mod entirely). Are we absolutely 100% sure that it is actually a case of a broken driver? Could it be that we are not using the extension exactly as the specification demands, or are exercising some edge case that AMD aren't expecting most games to use?

  5. I'll take a look at the spider problem, they might contribute to stealth score which we can fix. Unfortunately, we don't have custom vocals lines for specific enemies like spiders and other monsters. Guards will call out the player/ thief, but not monsters. TDM has pretty long AI search and alert times compared to Thief. They rack up quickly as destined mentioned and there's a lot of under the hood variables. I've experimented with reducing alter times in my own missions and some people like that. It's a tricky thing to balance and a fairly complicated system to explain easily. We could try though! Thanks for the feedback!

  6. Interesting info about the different alert infos! Can this be explained in the loading tips? Because in most other games, enemies rather quickly return to normal.

  9. Upcoming TDM 2.10 will have more features for debugging info_location problems, thanks to @stgatilov. These are summarized in my update to The Location Entities section of Location Settings. Also See More at the bottom has additional links.
