  1. Hmm, I thought I read somewhere it wasn't open sourced at all, but that the source code was stolen, but the devs didn't care. Since I couldn't find any more info and had no use for it I removed my copy from my github account. I have been thinking of learning to mod for FEAR, but all modding tools seem very windows orientated and I'm curently using Linux (although the game loads fine with Proton).
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you are revering to this issue, which I think is something else entirely:
  3. @Jedi_WannabeThis mission does not show up in the mission downloader. Maybe because I already finished a beta?
  4. What about.. TD5? .. Together with.. @Sotha (he was here recently).
  5. Maybe you can check temperatures of your cpu + gpu. If these have stock coolers especially the gpu could get quite hot and under-perform. Also I think you should at least try Stencil shadows (instead of Maps).
  6. Good to know. I have played G3 for a week or so and concluded that I didn't want to continue playing.
  7. Is Gothic 2 better than Gothic 3, you think? I only played Gothic 3 for a while.
  8. In my opinion you shouldn't implement volumetric lighting everywhere. You should examine it on a per scene basis, if it improves the lighting. I see plenty of scenes in new missions where the scene in non volumetric lighting imo looks better (by activating stencil shadows) and in other scenes it does look better.
  9. The select mission text for the currently installed mission is gone, but the button still clicks. If you installed a mission while a previous version (of the same mission) is still present, you might not know it's already selected automatically. So then you want to select it, but the text for the button is not present. This can give a lot of confusion. I wouldn't remove the text for the already active mission, there is no negative aspect toward selecting again, but it is more consistent if it's still there even for selected missions (otherwise it should state: This mission is already active). Anyway, just my 2 cents.
  10. I have this quite often, when I do a quickload and the first thing I hear is: "Something moving?". Didn't know it was related to light. Maybe this occurs more often in 2.10 because of faster save loading?
  11. There is a setting called Sync to Vblanc, which according to the internet, is just v-sync, but I didn't know that. I set it off and now I get 166fps. Hooray! Weird enough is that my main monitor I game on is 75 hz, but my second monitor has 60hz, but with Sync to Vblanc activated it locks to 60hz, which is not used for displaying the game. Thanks for the help
  12. Thanks. I will check my driver settings first.
  13. On some newer missions (maybe it's TDM core related) you frob, the wheel gets selected and then with every next frob you turn the wheel. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  14. I thought that @stgatilov had a fix for this a while back, but I can't find it.
  15. No I'm using it fullscreen on linux with nvidia card.
  16. Well there was indeed an nvidia driver bug on Linux with displayport. I can't use mine either (although I haven't tried in a while). The K600 has a displayport and dvi connection, so that could be it. I thought that possibly performance would be better if one gpu doesn't display on more than one monitor. Probably not, but these kind of configurations make me wonder sometimes..
  17. So if I disabled V-sync and set Uncap fps on I still only get a max fps of 60 in game. How can I get higher fps?
  18. If I put multiple bats in the same patrol route, they get stuck after a while. Better make them use their own patrol route.
  19. fly_seek_scale seems to be important. The info says: Default it is set to 0.5 . If I change it to 20 it has no problems following the path. Maybe this needs to be lower or higher in smaller areas. I don't know what the logic is here, but at 10 it is still not good enough for my map. The fire elemental has fly_seek_scale set to 4, but the speed is set to 20.. Adding more path_corner entities has no influence. Animal patrol mode also works. Weird enough it can be combined with a patrol route to get some random behavior added to the following of the route. So it flies around a bit and then flies to the next point, then flies around a bit again.. Also, in animal patrol mode (with a set patrol route) it can fly at different heights, by setting the path_corner entities at different heights. This doesn't work properly in normal patrol mode.
  20. man1b.map You can test with tdm_ai_showdest 1 For comparison I added a fast flying elemental Edit: Actually the patrol mode seems to work better at lower speeds. Maybe if there are more path_corner entities added closer to each other it might work better. Still the fire elemental seems to have less issue following the path at higher speeds than the bat. Maybe someone with more experience can test? Edit: I updated the map file with a version with the now working bat.
  21. Is there a benefit of putting the onboard graphics on the secondary monitor instead of using the external gpu for both?
  22. I thought that that everything up to that point was really great and played more like some sort of adventure game, but after that it became a shooter. There was also a scene where you have to save someone (I think) and have limited time. I failed there so many times I stopped playing. When I watch video's of it I think that it looks really great, but the gameplay is not so good throughout the whole game, which is a shame. I also had such a moment with the Mass Effect 3 Rannoch Reaper Boss, where after trying like 12 times I gave up on the whole game, although I liked most of the game, the boss fights are awful. I'm against the concept of bossfights in general. They're usually a bad excuse (I think) for not making interesting enemy ai. These parts also usually take most of your freedom away and there is just only one way to kill it. It's done ok I think in for example FEAR Extraction Point, where most of the game enemy ai is very interesting to play against and in the end there are just some tougher enemies.
