  1. This is regularly happening every 10 - 15 minutes during a DR session. I'm saving like crazy but even loosing small amounts of work and having regular crashes slow me down is quite demotivating. Here is the error screen I get when it happens. I do get options but whatever one I click DR will still crash and I will loose any unsaved work. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you.
  2. I parented the sword to the belt and used the constrain parent function with "maintain offset checked", yet the sword won't move with the belt. Any ideas?
  3. Hi, I guess the topic say it. I have created a func_static with a decal on it. On the func static the decal shows up fine, but if I export it as ase model the decal is not shown on the model. The decal material is listed in the ase file. So the script recognizes it. I'm not sure what's wrong. Does anyone experienced this before? Does anyone has an idea what may be wrong? Thanks in advance.

Afternoon I have tried making the following model moveable - - models/darkmod/decorative/statues/gargoyle_fetus_pose.ase If I use the atdm:moveable_custom_item enity I get a collision related crash/error on map load, I then tried the old trick of using a different entity that has the origin in the same location and is roughly the same size. I dont understand why Im getting the collision error, as the model as a collision mesh. - atdm:moveable_pot_small but then I have the issue where the item dosent frob highlite. Any idea's would be welcome.
  5. A wealthy owner is away for the season, and has covered his furniture in sheets to keep the dust off. A bereaved father has locked up the room where his daughter lived before her tragic death. A shop owner keeps extra furniture covered in a back room or attic. It would be nice to offer a set of sheet-covered furniture for these occasions. We don't need to see the furniture underneath, so generic chairs, sofas, tables, and bookshelf shapes should suffice. An off-white sheet is fine, with perhaps burlap or canvas as alternate skins. Thanks.

      The BSD's arn't for everyone, but within their goals, simple code and mailing lists lies a lot of goodness and simplicity. I love the underdogs. Anyhoo work will be Linux friendly too. Portability is a cornerstone for good code.

  6. This is WIP post just to help me collect some info in one place. In order to go standalone, TDM needs to replace all existing D3 assets. This is an attempt to catalogue all the models and animated models needed, along with links to briefs when they exist. If you're interested in replacing any of these, great! It would really help us out. But please get in touch with me first if a brief doesn't exist, since replacements have to follow the originals in things like size, origin, etc. Animated Characters: Zombie -- http://forums.thedar...nimated-zombie/ Greebo has created a zombie character, and Arcturus has done a couple animations but we still need: *anim sleep_2_sit_rgt // zombie starts out lying on ground on back; quickly rises to standing *anim sleep_idle_rgt // the lying on ground pose. No movement (at least 30 frames for blending) *anim sit_2_sleep_rgt // starts in standing idle; quickly lies down backwards Skeleton -- http://forums.thedar...mated-skeleton/ We need an animated skeleton and ragdoll. Like the zombie, this should use our default humanoid animation rig so that it can share animations with the zombie and other characters. Lemony has created a new skeleton model that Springheel will rig Werebeast -- http://forums.thedar...ated-werebeast/ The head of the model is ours, but the body and animations come from the D3 imp and will need replacing.       (We can leave the thread for journalism corruption, but just on this...) Then the issue in academia is money flowing to the more corruptable fields like science & engineering with the big corporate grants & revolving door with staff. The humanities might not get that, but OTOH they are getting pressured to "justify their existence" financially. I could probably agree it's rife in almost any human field though, as long as there are incentives there will be corruption.

      Or then we have the "uncorruptable" critical academics, but then they're basing their work on Derrida or Marx and are so detached from reality they throw their credibility out the window. It's good to be critically detached, not so good to be derailed from reality. My position in law sometimes is something like a critical realism, but it's practically an orphan position. (You want to protect victims *and* think science works??? Wha...?)

      Who is uncorruptable anyways? I cannot convince even myself that I would be uncorruptable in every situation. And I perceive myself to be situated in the more-reliable-than-50%-of-the-general-population side in the gaussian distribution curve of corruption. Problematic, yes?

  7. For the last 1-2 weeks the forums have been really slow and unresponsive for me, when I type a post half the time it just sits there etc.. is anyone else having the same issues..?
  8. Does anybody else have this problem? In the (European) evenings the forum is unbearable slow. The server is delivering about 8Kbyte/s, sometimes less and usually stops midwhere during loading the page. Sometimes you can't even get the index page, sometimes you can log in, but then only get half of the overview etc. In the mornings everything is snappy.
  9. Made an animated Gramophone from in-game model, I don't know was it or not, but couldn't find in DR, so decide to challenge with scripts and win but after 4 hours of experiments, when planned to spend only 1,5 hour %)

      Its a great model however I agree completely with Springheel. I posted a pic of one of these in your thread XendroX. Ex-gf of mine actually owned one of these and it was eerie to listen to.

  10. Look for my Xendrox's model topic - make wallpaper texture, and even I like result very much.. Looks great like for me :) Want to make carpet and composition become full accomplished

  11. I've upgraded IPB to the latest stable version, and since this was a major upgrade (from 2.3.6) I also had to re-do the forum style. Most of the new stuff is in place, but I bet that the logo will be changed. One of the many new features in version 3 is rating of posts and also a "report spammer" ability which will make it easier to single out spam bots and ban then at sight. Hopefully this will stop some of the spam threads we've seen recently. Make sure to empty your browser cache if you're experiencing any problems. And please report any errors etc in this thread. I am in the making of a model wich was a enterance trough his mouth in a underground temple but then i thought this is good enough to be a model for a new wherewolf type. so before i continue building is anyone interested in this model? to maybe attach to an entity? then i make a base shape out of the arms and legs so it looks good in every position, otherwise i have to do double work.

      I'm using the CD with TG, T2 and T3 on it. Darkloader doesn't like it. I can't get TG FMs to work

  16. Does anyone know a freeware model conversion tool to convert ase to obj? I couldn't find one.

      Can't get the latter to run (msvcp110.dll missing). I've tried installing MSVC++ redistributable, but already have the newest version of the 2010 package.

       

      Any suggestions?

      The newest redist may not be the one you need, later sp's don't cover some earlier stuff etc. Guess I could make a new build sometime.
