What? The mysterious saviour is back to make our Thief lives happier again after such a long absence? I can't believe it's true! Wow thanks so much!

He's like our own Game of Thones mystery crow that leads us to secret treasures.

  1. I'm wondering if anyone ever checks new posts in the Fan Missions Forums? I've posted 4 questions asking for help for 4 different missions that I can't finish because I"m stuck, and I don't get any help. I posted a question this morning so I don't expect an answer right away for that one. Its frustrating because I would like to finish them. I've read through the posts for each mission and I'm not getting anything from them. If there's someone who could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks I guess I'm spoiled from the TTLG forums.
  2. Is it just me or does the TDM Forums favicon look whack?

  3. Hi all, me again Now that I've learned how to take screenies on DM (thanks to Aluminumhaste) I wanted to post one that I took but I got an error saying that the image ext that I used was not allowed in these forums, It was .jpg so I changed it to .png and I got the same error again. They're on Photobucket.
  4. Just a heads-up to anyone using anonymous access to the TDM source code repo hosted at https://svn.thedarkmod.com/svn/darkmod_src Due to some annoying side-effects of hosting both authenticated and anonymous access to the repository via the same URL, I have decided to re-home the anonymous access URL and make the original URL always require authentication. So for anyone using anonymous access, you will need to "relocate" your working copy to https://svn.thedarkmod.com/publicsvn/darkmod_src The underlying repository is exactly the same as before, but it now uses a different URL. Assuming that your working copy points to darkmod_src/trunk, you can relocate it as follows (from your working copy directory): svn relocate https://svn.thedarkmod.com/publicsvn/darkmod_src/trunk For TortoiseSVN users, look for the relocate command and use the URL above. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. And if you experience any issues, please don't hesitate to post in this thread or drop me a PM.
  5. I've reconfigured our repository server to allow public read-only access to the source code. This means interested readers can check out the latest code from the SVN trunk and produce patches or similar. It's also possible to view the changes in detail, or have a look at the SVN commit log, statistics and such. The public read-only SVN URL is https://svn.thedarkmod.com/publicsvn/darkmod_src/trunk Only team members and contributors are allowed to commit to this repository. Also note that the actual asset base (the stuff that ends up in all the tdm_*.pk4 files) is not open for public viewing, since the team feels that there should be something left for the actual releases. No guarantees, support, whatsoever, just download the code and have fun with it. The big disclaimer: This SVN version of the source code is unstable and therefore only targeted at the interested reader or possible contributor. We cannot guarantee it will run properly with the asset base from the latest stable release, nor will we (the TDM team) offer support – we just don’t have the manpower for that. Just take it as it is, play around with it, learn from it, etc. Some parts of the source code are in flux and need to be viewed as unfinished or buggy. Please let the responsible programmer finish their task before commmenting on the code or offering patches. The game mechanics as they are implemented in this source code have usually been discussed very deeply by the team and are not open for discussion. Only confirmed issues from the bugtracker and possibly new features (gameplay / renderer /…) are welcome additions. It might be a good idea to ask in the forums before implementing new features, to measure the chances of them being accepted by the team. You can ask questions, of course, but don't be disappointed if they are left unanswered. Consider this a move towards opening the TDM development to the community. Maybe something comes out of it.

He's a pretty cool guy. You ask him to find stuff and he'll usually turn up the goods. A little nosy though...

  7. Personally I think this is the worst idea ever. The Reason forums has LOADS of info and knowledge, built up through years and years. I'm really sad to see it go away, and I can't understand why they've made this decision. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1579099#poststop

I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

    3. chakkman

      chakkman

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

      (or just stick with TDM)

  8. Hoping to do some coding this evening. Must resist urge to update my SVN and try out new things...

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

I didn't know that first trick setting up the base, so thanks for that.

  9. So I did it. TDM died when loading training missing with profiler evaluating the engine. Then I just ran profiler when it was already loaded. That was CPU profiling with Very Sleepy. It wasn't as bad as I thought at first. Next step was running gDebugger. And that was horrible See results here: https://drive.google...Rjg&usp=sharing Oh, and that was with the same set up I used before for AMD fix thread: System -- Nvidia GeForce 670 GTX 2Gb, AMD Penom x3 2.2Ghz, 8Gb DDR, xfx 750a, Sound: Asus Xonar D1, Win 7 Pro 64bit Driver -- Nvidia's latest release Screen res -- 1920x1200 Settings -- AAx8 ASx8, VSync off
  10. Love your signature over at the Eidos forums. Hahaha!

I don't normally even use signatures, but I've used a few to voice my displeasure at what EM is doing to Thief. I'll probably stick with that one until I lose interest in visiting the EM forums.
