  1. Hi First post here and not sure whether this is the right place to post! The Wiki website seems be down as I am getting an error message that the Wiki is unavailable. Is it me or is it down for maintenance? Mike
  2. Is it me, or has the wiki gone a bit wonky? I'm seeing some pages (like the Universe page) show up just fine, others (like the Category:Tutorial page) show up without formatting, and yet others (like the Skybox Tutorial page) just throwing an error...

Sounds like there was a software update that went bad. That's my guess.

Hmm, looks like it's been fixed. Man, the wiki's really had it hard recently ):

  3. I wonder what happened to the wiki... ?

The bugtracker too, it seems. 'The outage should not last more than a couple of hours or so, expect it to be online again on 2011-01-30.'

Backup, and Taai will be taking a deeper look over the weekend time allowing.

  4. I made an Editing FAQ on the wiki. If you know some FAQ, please contribute: wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Editing_FAQ_(Troubleshooting_%26_How-To)

The "&" has to be substituted with %-26 (take out the "-"). Stupid format switch.

He's a pretty cool guy. You ask him to find stuff and he'll usually turn up the goods. A little nosy though...

  7. Evening Just noticed the following wiki entry - http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Attaching_Props_to_AI Can someone confirm if the entry is wrong with regard to attaching entities to the hand (positions 4 & 2) as the wiki entry keeps refing to 5 and tyhats the shoulder which is wrong? In this instance I want to def_attach the 'club_spiked' as a weapon for an AI.
  8. Personally I think this is the worst idea ever. The Reason forums has LOADS of info and knowledge, built up through years and years. I'm really sad to see it go away, and I can't understand why they've made this decision. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1579099#poststop

I've been considering reinstalling TDS for a wile now... I've still got my original CDs. Have these guys fixed the bug where you get stuck floating? Last time I played TDS, that happened and I was unable to get out of it, so I ragequit.

You can surpass that bug by drawing your bow, performing a shot, and draw your blackjack when the bow is tensioned, to abort the bow shot. I'm hoping it's fixed in the Gold patch too though. Alongside the thing where you move sideways, when peeking left or right.

      @Biker Hmm.

      Build TDM mission in DR.

      Export as portions as ASE

Edit in Blender and export in TDS compatible format

      Import into T3ED

      Edit

      Release TDS mission...

      (or just stick with TDM)

I hope the gameplay is unique to justify him reinventing the wheel instead of, e.g., just forking off of us. The art design looks good.

  9. Love your signature over at the Eidos forums. Hahaha!

I don't normally even use signatures, but I've used a few to voice my displeasure at what EM is doing to Thief. I'll probably stick with that one until I lose interest in visiting the EM forums.

  10. The website has several RSS feeds available for news readers. But today I was looking to include a feed of missions but didn't find one surprisingly. On the mission page, there are three feeds, one of the mod news, comments on news, and comments on Missions which has never seen an update, since that page doesn't get comments. The main news doesn't mention mission releases. Going to the wiki mission page, there's an RSS feed of wiki changes, but it includes changes to any/all wiki pages, not just the missions page. I suppose it would be possible to setup Yahoo pipes to filter out changes to the wiki other than the missions page and provide an RSS feed of that. There are a dozen people who have the forums set to follow the "Fan Missions" forum section, presumably to get an email and watch for the usual new mission template. But it seems logical to enable an RSS feed for the missions page, so new releases would pop up for folks along with their news, blogs, weather, Dark Radiant updates, and whatever else they keep in their news readers, wouldn't it?
  11. Just wanted to say, Hello! From reading through various posts in the forums it seems like a great community and I hope to become a part of it. So I got the hankering for some Thief as of late and stumbled on TDM through some googling. After purchasing Doom 3 through Steam and instaling TDM, I have been nostalgiacly playing through many of the FMs and have also decided to d/l the Radiant editor and start making a mission, maybe many, we'll see. As it turns out also, I just started (today!) my 1 week vacation from work and intend to dive in to the Radiant editor and am currently going through the A-Z wiki on it. A bit of background on me, I 'used' to work in application support till the economic crash a couple years ago and was laid off and am now running a machining center at a local machine shop, using Mastercam daily, 2D/3D stuff and have always wanted to make a mission/game, and decided since I've always enjoyed the Thief series and stealth gameplay so much, this is where I would start. After getting to my third year in Mechanical Technology I changed my major to Information Technology (should have went with straight Computer Science but ahhh hindsight). I've always loved building things and designing things and also really enjoy computers, art, audio, and the entire visual experience as presented to a user. I have created a couple playable maps before using the older source engine editor so I'm vaguely familiar with 3D modeling, skyboxes, lighting, AI pathing, etc. That's been over 10 years ago though. I got familiar with 3dsmax, ProE, Autocad, and Mastercam in my first major during school so that helps a bit when familiarizing with a new editor and as previously mentioned I've dabbled around in the Valve Source editor. I'm also very much looking forward to the Crucible of Omens campaign created by the marvelous talent at TDM and would like to help in any way I can once I'm familiar with the Radiant engine. I can also do many many voices, I've often thought about moving out to Cali from Indiana and finding work in voice-overs, voice acting, etc. All this started as a youngster with little friends, time on my hands, and imaginary friends. Wow that's hard to admit. So anyway, I've been working on a shadowy Garrett voice, and can do guards and some women characters with old, old english, gruff, slippery, sneaky, terrifying, voices and personalities. Just thought I'd mention that as it may be a way that I could contribute early on and would also enjoy. So anyway, too much about me and not enough A-Z wiki, back to the tutorial! Glad to be here and hope for good things to come.
