That room (actually, most of the house interior except the topmost room and bits of the cellar) is all Bikerdude's work. :)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

Thanks dude :-)

I corrected my post to include the above info.

And from memory, it took me about 8hrs to build that room you see(the massive fireplace was a few hours by itself) and another 30hrs or so to build the kitchen, basement, cellar. The bedroom was originally built by Melan, I just did a detail pass and the and adjoining rooms in the cellar were all Melan's work. I hope one day Melan and I will get around to doing a sequel to that mission.

Talking of RTTC, cool video posted over on TTLG with reference -

Congrats!

PC Gamer was mag that I subscribed to back in the day. Great achievement.

Computer Gaming World + PC Accelerator were also good in those days.

It was a PC Accelerator demo disc that introduced me to TDP...that was before I even had a 3D graphics card.......that year I got Diamond Monster 3D 2 for Christmas. Wow......how time / technology flies....

After reading through the comments section it seems like people are annoyed because TDM is standalone now and so they think it is not fit for the mod category. I don't even know where to begin on that one other than saying simply... wow some people are stupid!

But regardless of that, congratulations to all of the team that helped create this incredible game!

Hey @nbohr1morehow come the zombies in The Dark Mod don't have a "resurrection" mechanic to it, similar to how Thief has it?
They're quite a weak creature as of right now, it's merely a walking corpse that slashes you, making attacking them to kill them an actual strategy.
Would be better if they had some cool mechanism to it that truly makes them a danger, such as the resurrection idea itself.

Query: when was the last time a zombie in a video game was unnerving or scary to you? I'm chipping away at my anniversary submission and I've been trying to gather opinions on the subject. I'm perfectly capable of lighting them well, changing their sfx, and creating effective ambience, but I'm worried that zombies at their core are just too overdone to be an effective payoff to the tension I'm creating.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.
