Question - will desks, armoires, etc, be openable, like chests?  Hrm, for that matter, will chests??  Or will such things be "frob and a goodie pops out" style?

I just wanted to post the same. :)

We need desks with holes in it, with the drawer being a seperate object so that it can slide out. That would be the best solution. Should already be possible with current code (almost).

_Atti_ can do this? Create for each table a second version with the drawer being a seperate object?

There are some things that I would definitely like to see frobbable.

chests (obviously)

Wardrobes (although does that mean we have to model clothes?) (would be cool to have a secret door in the back of these)

Desk drawers (but please, only 1 main drawer per desk please, could be tedious otherwise)

don't take that wrong Atti - your models look all great, but I have to do some critism on this one ;)

first you should take care that the proportions are right. this means in case of the grandfather-clock, that the top and the bottom are about the same size. your top is much wider than the bottom -your clock would be knocked off rather easily ;)

then plze try to make it more old-school-looking. it's just my opinion, but I think this style doesn't fit very well to the rest of our furniture.

here's a reference pic, that shows what I had in mind:

here is an edited version..howver i think it was wide and heavy enough not to get knocked down so easily..

anyway i will redo the whole model if you think that style wouldnt fit with the others...

Keep that model anyway. Doesn't hurt if we have different ones. :) And it doesn't look bad IMO.

I think it looks better with the larger bottom. I like the way it looks, personally. The spikes on top are unique and give it an interesting flavour, much like TYROT's lampost.

Keep it. :)

Yes. I also like the spikes. Looks even more Thiefy to me. :) Don't have the original clocks in T2 also such a look? I'm not sure right now.

great :) looks really exactly the same ! going to skin it, as soon as I finished the barrel.

i'll prepare the low poly version then..

my question is..do you want to make the normal map with PS or will you generate it by using the highpoly mesh?

cause if you're working with ps than i will start straight with the lowpoly next time..

btw is there any free 3d application that i could do the normal maps with? that ati normalmapper's exporter not works..at least not with studiomax7

well it depends on, what kind of object it is. normalmaps for more or less simple objects like furniture can mostly be done in PS.

I don't know any free 3d apll, that has a normalmap plugin :(

BTW I quite like your servant-beds :)

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
