[POLL] Should save rooms be a feature in FMs moving forward?
gokudo replied to Goldwell's topic in Fan Missions
If it adds more time to development it's not worth it IMO. Time could be better spent elsewhere, like in the amazing work with 2.10 and textures/images/etc that I've been seeing in recent missions. -
Another quality mission. The effects are getting better and better. Loved the glowing symbols/lighting!

The Black Mage (Grayman, JackFarmer & Friends), December, 24th, 2021

Loved it. The last castle mission I played was House of Theo and this is a quantum leap on that. How the hell did you get those artworks to look so real? -

Another quality city mission. Feels good after the drought... -
Man, had way more depth than expected and is a quantum leap from Mission 1. Glad to finally have some missions to break the drought!

We have lost a member of the TDM development team
gokudo replied to Springheel's topic in The Dark Mod
Absolutely gutted to hear this. I loved playing his missions and they helped restore my faith in gaming. My condolences to the family. -
If there's one word to describe this, it's epic. It's got a couple of bugs but given the size and sheer ambition, it's a minor distraction. Crucible of Omens is pretty much a dress rehearsal for this! That being said, I like missions with a bit more of a personal feel but this is still an incredible effort. Look forward to any future releases from the FGC crew!

Fan Mission: The King of Diamonds by Spooks (2016/05/13)

Wasn't able to finish this first time around due to the bug. Glad to finally clock this, and yes, it's an awesome mission. Is it me or have the visuals improved with version v2? -
Fan Mission: A Night Of Loot: One Man's Treasure (2020/06/13)

Great work. I wasn't expecting something super complex with a 4 mb mission but this well exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to any further releases you have! -
This possibly could be what you're after: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108717/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091605/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

Have just started playing but am extremely impressed so far. Some of the effects I've never seen before in TDM missions and they are a definite step up from the norm. If we continue to keep releasing missions of this caliber, 2020 is shaping up nicely!

Hi all, If you're like me and waiting for the next lot of TDM missions to come out, I would strongly recommend checking out Stalker ANOMALY: https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly This and TDM are basically all I play now. I did try the Outer Worlds but found it to be a totally overrated, boring Fallout clone with some badly done Borderlands graphics...

Hi all, Happy new year and I can't wait to see what this very talented team manages to release this year. Some of my favorite missions so far are (not in order are): 1.) Crucible of Omens: Behind closed doors 2.) Alberic's Curse 3.) Crystal Grave 4.) Deceptive Shadows 5.) Awaiting the Storm As for campaigns, I highly rate whatever's released by Dragofer, Goldwell, Grayman and Sotha. I feel that atmosphere sets aside TDM from all the other bland, bloated games that are saturating the market at present. I just love that Gothic/Baroque feel that TDM is able to capture and that no-one else appears to be doing, much to the detriment of gamers everywhere. I do feel as the missions get more and more detailed, this list will most likely change a couple of times! Keep up the great work team!

Fan Mission: Snowed Inn by Goldwell & Kingsal (2019/12/25)
gokudo replied to Goldwell's topic in Fan Missions
Loving the mission so far. Look forward to what is in store for 2020! -
This sounds just like what you're after: https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Fan_Mission_Series#Thomas_Porter_series I'm sure that I've played more with a definite Lovecraftian theme but this series of missions stands out. I'm hoping Sotha's working on the next best thing as we speak!

Can't think of a better choice for a in-game harem area or hash den!
-
Great mission. Not too massive, not too small, just right!
-
Definitely on the right track, but I personally feel that it sounds a bit too contemporary. I would think more along the lines between the intro music for this doco and Vangelis's Animoid Row Part 2 from Blade Runner. This is more bazaar/marketplace type stuff.

Funnily enough I did play T2 - Shadows of the Metal Age HD remaster and that sounds exactly like what you're trying to achieve. Hell, the main character was from Northern Africa! This was made ages ago and I'm not sure what happened to the devs, but maybe it's worth dropping them a line or two? Man, I would've happily paid good money for that game. That being said, I have been burned on kickstarter with the System Shock remaster, which'll be done roughly when I hit retirement at this stage....

Wow, I'm staggered at the amount of research that's been put in. The amount of passion this community has is truly phenomenal. Just to add some more fuel to the fire, I believe this collection of short stories could provide some more ideas around concept, if we were to go with a much darker theme than say a Prince of Persia: https://www.amazon.com/Tales-Alhazred-Donald-Tyson-ebook/dp/B01LXPANK1/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=tales+of+alhazred&qid=1572849560&sr=8-1 I also feel that Andalusian architecture could provide a happy balance between European and Middle Eastern. Anyways, this is turning into a very interesting discussion!

If you'll fast forward to the end, you'll see where I got the idea from. Also, a massive fan of what this mob is doing...
