  1. Story: You've just finished making the worlds first time machine. Objectives: Travel in to the future!
  2. All this stuff and many of the other stuff you keep making new threads about is covered in Fidcal's beginners guide. If you just spent a night or two going through it you would save yourself so much time.
  3. I can do an instrumental version with no Stephen Hawkings and no distortion. I wanted to do a stripped down instrumental version of this anyway just so I can show off my song writing skills. Soz if that sounds arrogant. will record and upload 2mo.
  4. Well it was done in my living room so I'm not expecting perfect quality. As long as potential band members can hear what I'm trying to create and use to work out their own parts then that's fine. When it comes to doing a proper recording we'll just rent out a recording studio for a day. Glad you like it though.
  5. Here's a recording I've finished. I might try and redo the guitar distortion again as I think I can get it to sound a lot better. I love the rest though. https://soundcloud.com/user830368557/starbound
  6. I'm starting a new band. I'm currently in the process of recording three songs. It's hard to categorize as its a combination of many influences. I guess it's technically prog rock a bit like Pink Floyd but even that's a stretch! Think lush ever evolving guitar soundscapes and instead of a singer there is a sample of someone giving an inspiring speech. At the moment I'm using samples from youtube of Stephen Hawkings and Richard Dawkings. I will upload the recordings once they are done. I would like the name to mean something of a science, philosophical theme as is what I intend most of the samples to be about, Also for inspiration please posts youtube links that you think might provide good snippets of speech to sample. I will not sample what I believe to be anything that might be controversial. I also do not care if I share the same philosophical or religious views. Any samples I use will not be a reflection of what I believe in. All I care about is that the samples are thought provoking, passionate and fit well with the Music. I'm currently using Stephen Hawkings and Richards Dawkings and while I mostly share their opinions and belief I am using their speeches because I find the construction of the speeches and the delivery to be beautiful and inspiring (yes even Stephen Hawkings in his robot voice). At the moment I'm doing rythem guitar and my friend Graham is doing lead guitar. If there are any bass players and drummers (or bass players or drummers that you know of) in the London area then please PM me. I haven't written any keyboard parts for the songs yet but if there any keyboard players that are interested in this and want to have a go at writing their own parts then please get in contact also. Peace and love to you all.
  7. Why doesn't Jack the Ripper get any love? There's Jack and the Beanstalk too. Don't forget Jumping Jack Flash.
  8. My first attempt at recording guitar stuff in Audacity: https://soundcloud.com/user830368557/luna
  9. This was nothing short of epic. Many thanks to the Crucible team and Bikerdude for getting this complete. I can't imagine how many hours was put into creating this. I look forward to the next installments of the Crucible campaign.
  10. R.I.P. Lemmy. "That's the way I like it baby, I don't wanna live forever."

I saw them with Tony Martin era Black Sabbath. My friend visited me the next day to confirm whether he was the only one still having trouble hearing the next day. We were both afraid we would never hear the same again. I don't have tinnitus but I'm certain my hearing test results have been lowered.

Needless to say, he blew Black Sabbath off the stage. Tony Martin had to resort to sing-alongs of classic Sabbath tunes to generate any crowd reaction.

  11. Congrats on the release Biker. I know how much hard work you put into your FMs so I'm sure that if I expect this to be nothing short of extraordinary I won't be disappointed
  12. Thanks for all your hard work Grayman. I don't blame you for scaling back your missions. There is no way I could make eight TDM missions the size of your first 3 for WS. It doesn't mean that the quality needs to be scaled back either.
  13. I never used speed potions, slow fall potions or invisibility potions in Thief. I always liked the idea of being able to outwit my oponents with my stealth skills and my stealth skills alone. I consider water, gas and moss arrows different because that is something that could in theory be physically crafted therefore could be an extension of my skills.
  14. Building of Dark Mod opera house: 99% complete. Composition of super funky classical guitar music to accompany TDM opera house: 100% complete. Glasses of wine consumed: 2 (more to follow:))

It also comes with a phantom in the basement. It's amazing what you can do with triggers, teleporters and a sick imagination :)

  15. Mother Nature Sings! The wind against my walls is a thousand violins crying for what could have been for mankind! The wheelie bins in my street crashing is the sound of drums beating to the rythym of judgement day. Sing mother nature! Sing your sweet symphony as you eradicate us away to rthe sweet melody of your destruction!

@ Goldwell:I always save in revisions eg opera house1, opera house 2 etc. So if I fuck something up I can just copy and paste it from a previous revision.

  16. the clever people that look after my office have made a huge board that bullet points how to use stairs safely. Where have they put it? Right in front of where people get off the office bus so people can go crashing into it as soon as they exit the vehicle. The board that highlights safety is actually a safety hazard.

My boss said that the company is worried that if people get injured at the work place they will sue the compsny for being a dangerous work environment so they are shoving all this safety crap down are throat. They have really gone over the top with it and are just being silly now.

  18. What exactly is behind this secret door disguised as a book case? Could it be a secret order of Necromancers trying to open a gateway so that the dead may walk amongst the living? Perhaps it is a select few Builders who believe the ways of old are out of date and a new religious formation is now in order? Or is it a group of thieves planning their next heist on some unsuspecting rich lord? It's none of the above. It's the secret entrance to the function rooms above the Somers Town Coffee House in London that SteveL, Bikerdude and myself meet up in every now and again to get drunk, talk about TDM and whatever random thoughts may happen to wander our way.
  19. I'm sure I could. It's just that I had planned for the last half of October to be DR free so I could catch up on Steam games and spend the rest of the year finishing the opera house level I'm working on with Biker. I don't want to give up my planned two weeks of Steam gaming catch up. Soz!
  20. There's no way I could build an FM in just two weeks. Best of luck to those involved!
  21. That is true but still something worth considering. MK seemed to be under the impression that as long as func_static was within sealed geometry then it should not cause any problems.
